You are still not trust me wink

I downloaded video. 59 fps. Good. Lets look at it.

Oh NOSE ... trust has nothing do to with it....

Else i wouldnt have done all these efforts to accommodate you  neutral

Yes, i like to be specific ... that it... my benevolent friend...

And yes,  like i said...; the new recode is as good as the original appart from the macroblocks...  but thats more of an bitrate thing then anything else;...

Well .. reduce an  2000+ megabyte capture to an measle 40+ megabyte isnt THAT BAD me like to think LoL..

Anyway... max smoothness is my goal .... and i alway's have used uniform mode.... but allas that didnt do the trick... neither did the other modes... lower specs...

But... ill try to change parameters... ... in avisynth setting i presume..?  or do i need to open an certain .js file  and change it ?

If so, how ... notepad?

thanks,

Mkay... pheww... lets recaputilate....

This ↓ edit is recoded at 59FPS (cant go higher ..).. but i have watched it and Tis as good as the Original in terms of smooth playback (appart from those spasms / ticks) ...
You clearly can see what i mean now... i even have made some directions where to look for during the video playback  smile

AGain, at play index 13 - 15 secs the mayham begins..... when swat team finest move up up up the ladder especially !!!

Here you go....
https://www.mediafire.com/?16o55ys3poxd7j6

Thank you for the supperb support

cherriepoopers,
metagondriac

Yes ...tis indeed 30fps the edit is....   but ill reup an 60fps encode mag

bear with me  big_smile

To be continued...

Yes... i just have checked and benched the original cut... its clocked at exact the same refresh rate SVP works... which is 60FPS → CONSTANT ← no dropps..
So i dont understand what u mean by "video killed"!!!

But then again, in the edit you cant see that which i watn you to see so clearly anymore .... the original is da best indeeed..
So... i'll recode it again trying other methods to get it as original as possible but with an MUCH MUCh smaller file size to upload it you see!!

EDIT:  uhuh... i have found a way to recode the large file AT → 60FPS ←  ... first edit wos indeed standard profile → 30fps ← pulldown i gather...   That's why you couldn't see those stutter / hickups that clearly anymore !!!

1 re edit comming up mag..

cheers

I just look at your video. So your video is killed by your video editor. Nothing interesting in 30 fps. Give me 60 fps or give me a source. It will be much better.

Is Fraps can capture 60 fps without frame drops?
I recommend to use NVIDIA ShadowPlay or Mirillis Action!. They have hardware acceleration of capturing at 60 fps FullHD.

I look to you profile You have AMD Radeon GPU so both utils are not for you. Sorry.

how do u explain the 0 frame/delay drop ... and it only ocures at Specific timeframes from that movie
It is simple. The source video and the algorithm give that result. I have algorithm but I don't have your source video.

Hey mag... have you tried windows media player to watch my uploaded home made ?

It should start smooth and along the way it starts to stutter and not because of frame drops or video edit !!

But ... i will recreate it for you , cuz i dont have the original anymore... and share the original ..

Fraps does an nice job ...  FRaps reported steady framerates between 59 -60 constantly ...
Realy the vid cap looks just the same as the original mag !!?

but ill re upload the whole thing for you.... if you wish

EdIt: errr... the original captured file is like over 2 gigabytes !!!
So, it looks i have captured uncompressed video file mag... so, you cant have better then this me thinks!!

And i checked and load my working profile from the edited movie mag, and its recoded at 60fps too! !

ALso helpfull info to mention is that the hickup stutter starts at 00:00:13 - 00:00:15 seconds...

thanks

Youtube is bad service to share 60 fps video. It can only 30 fps. And it always does reencoding with quality losses.
Mediafire I can download and watch only at home after 8 hours from now.

Yes mytube is an pita...

HUh... Dl from Mf after that longi!??  My video wos emediatly available for download though after i upped it !!

MAG79 wrote:

How did you capture this video?
Capture program usually make SVP performance worse.
Why you share not source but edited video?
Do you think you video editor keep video quality untouchable?

REst asure... i have captured it at desktop resolution (1080p) and the playback from that .mp4 file is very smooth despite the edit... atleast you can clearly see the ticks... in that specific scene...
I have used Fraps 3.5.99 (latest smile )

also, i use SSD drive to capture video materiall...  with like atleast 6 times more the speed then i had with my old hdd ... not to mention the acces times like 0.089 ms ... compared to my old hddd 14.xx ms !!!! FTW

MAG79 wrote:

It is either SVP interpolation mode setting switched smoothness at scene changes or your system weakness.
I need to look at 60 fps captured video to clarify it.

SErious...ly?  but how do u explain the 0 frame/delay drop ... and it only ocures at Specific timeframes from that movie  !!!!!
Also ... the profile is set aut by svp and doesnt exceed cpu load of maybe 20 - 30 right now!!

Thanks you

Thanks for the quick respond... mag

I dont know if this make sense to you or will help you , but the error doesnt always show while blend is checked ...

Again Thanks ,

I have captured an scene from an movie while it is in SVP action...  To illustrate the slight spasm.. hickup i dont have while SVP is disalbed ..

And it almost looks like it have spasms some nerve ticks (stutter if you like) you know in that specific scene though ...

Though... during the most part of the movie i dont get to see those twists/ticks  ... and i especially turned of SVP to check and see if it wosnt an bad encode/disk ... but no...

Turning of SVP did the trick, the scene played in 1 consistent line without hickups ... sort of speak...

No, i have checked for Dropped / delayed frames both 0-0 !!!

I wonder if there is 1 specific setting to counter measure that mayhap... its no big deal though.. it happends rarely ...

I have added the file to MY TUBE ... .ONLY HD READY resolution  watching it via youtube but the Original is 1080P Full HD..

Here you are ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oY4jzElr2TY

And i will share the original 1080P file aswell... shortly...  Because youtube messes up the original vid files from others from the looks of it... Tis as if the clip shows spasms everywhere all over the body  watching it on "YOUTUBE" hmm  hmm

Mediafire file ↓

Let me know what u found out brave ones tongue

Or better yet how to rectify that nuicance...

Ah i see, you want me to cut an piece out strait from the original video material and not an captured piece while seeing svp in action !!  But then, you will be watching the original content of my video movie and not see the actualy MPC+SVP playback you understand?

i dont get that ..; how will you know where to look for in SVP , with only a raw portion of my dvd collection  tongue

Thanks for all the pointers ..

LOL Fanta...

You got an fine piece of hardware there .. no question about it...

Ur laptop is perhaps 10x the laptop i have... and probebly has cost as much  big_smile  ...  my Intel i3 / 2 cores but → 4 threaded ←  big_smile / HD intel graphics adapter has cost me like lil more then 300€ ...

And ofcourse... those specification iam talking about youll never will read from an flyer or hear from an shopping assistence lol...
Better yet, if you woud ask they look at you as if you are from another planet lol..

Indeed to know those kind of specifications you probbebly need the help of the WWW for research before buying something .. or install an util on the laptop that is on display and you wish to buy  and provided they allow it lol

Wow.. are you using SVP @ 4G gravity with that flaptop fanta !??

Wow i only get like 3G from SVP... but thats probebly because of my cpu aswell....  that will be my next upgrade lol...
Only ... i need atleast other Hobo (socket am3+) to upgrade to an faster cpu + DDR3 !!!

However i can still get some more juice out of my Hobo... and get as high as PHENOM II X6 T1100  tongue  ... but the price is an BIT stEEp compared to the price of the latest Amd Flagship FX-8350 from Amd hehe..
And there is the latets FX-9000 arround the corner from amd ... lol

With an horsepower of no less then 5Ghz per core X 8 ... wooping 40ghz wow... lol ... where are the day's that computers run at only 40Mhz ... ie.. DX386 lol

So i probebly will bite the bullet eventually and change my hobo + cpu + ram ... and move other usefull components allong with it to my new rig hehe..

cheerios...

@Mag79

playback in 50hz mode is pretty much the same as in 60hz maybe slightly lesss...  Same amount of artifacts, same smoothness..
On top of that .. i realy dont want to set my desktop on 50hz because 50Hz isnt that SMOOTH anymore in games ... whereas 60 fps is → smooth as silk ←  big_smile

So no, i think i leave it on 60hz..

Yeah, iam happy with the developers suggestions... ie using frame crop did help much ...

Let me show yall pictar from before and after frame cropping tongue

B4 ↓  hmm

http://s27.postimg.org/bg4mg6xq7/Before_noise_enhancements.jpg

And After ↓ cool
http://s29.postimg.org/uofnc8wur/noise_example_2.jpg

The quality is an lil less me thinks using framecropp but ... iam fine with that kind of comprimise....

err.... do you want me to capture an piece of vid to analyse the noise or → smoothnes ←  .. cuz i dont think you'll see the same smooth vid watching my captured example !!

thanks anyway,
cheers

Yeah this                ↑↑ ^^ i woud experiment on...

or realy... try using different external filters...
Seriously , i had an bad hair day when i saw my perfect working mpc+svp crawling through the frames all of sudden because of those filters missing and in the wrong order !!!

If i were u , i woud make sure everything in mpc-hc i correct.. cuz SVP usualy gets it right from the start .. not much u need to change in SVP realy ... in my experience...

good luck wilkens

Overclocked GPU coreclock from 620 to 750 and memory clock from 1500 to 1650 (but only during gaming, not video)

750mem clock ... wow not bad... even my gpu its core clock is at 950 and mem is clocked at only 1250Mhz lol

Those speeds are only 1 fraction of the equation... .. there are other factors atleast as important if not more important like  Bandwidth is very important , especialy for AA and Texture filtering imo.... and then you have the ammount of Rops/ tmu ..  on ur gpu etc... lol

So... speed is not NEARLY everything... just like it is with an CPU its → architecture rather then horsepower lol

For example, some intel processors that are half as fast as my cpu still outperform my cpu by far lol in several tasks .. lol

As I wrote in my first post, the exclusivemode doesnt improve anything to me. I have 0 dropped frames in a 45 minutes movie without "exlusivemode" and 20 dropped frames in 45 minutes with it. Ok, its already 7 when the flickering ends and the movie finaly starts....so its only 13 during the video itself.

So, I dont have any visible difference, I even have dropped frames, I get the 3 seconds delay and a disco light performance. Why would I want that?

Thats weird.... i think in my case its the other way arround... lol.... when exclusive mode is unchecked i get like very small stutter and probleby delayed.dropped frames if i woud check that again...

NO i mean, that there is always room for improvement from an developers point of view u know... and not as user ... there are only 2 options u can change as user and thats it ..lol

oh well.. my setup is finaly complete... appart from that mosquite like wave noise arround poeple i get to see sometimes.. thats more of SVP shortcumming currently then anything else... it seems that this happend because of the method that is used in SVP to serve frame interpolation i have read somewhere !!

you suggest to use framecrop by Four pixels
It is only part of solution. In your case you need to use 'Frame crop - Custom' to completely remove black borders.

Can you make your display to show 72 Hz instead of 60 Hz? It will be more smooth and artifactless than at your screenshot. It will use integer smooth factor 3: 24 fps * 3 = 72 fps. All original frames will be shown.

After look at screenshot I think you change something in profile settings. Please reset your profiles to standard one. It makes minimum artifacts for DVD resolution.

yes.. the refresh of my monitor is another weird thing going on....

ccc center reports highest refresh rate of 70ghz but i can only select 60 ... even if i turn on unsupported refresh rates for my hdtv.. i only get the option to select 60 at most !!!

Regardless of what driver .. beta or final stable release ... it keeps unchanged !!!
But then again, i use an HDMI 1.4a cable instead of VGA .... maybe thats why i cant go any higher !!!

I have an vga cable somewhere ... i will test this theory of mine..

Furthermore ... iam playing pal material most of the time!! that is like 25 x 2= 50hz = pal... and iam already on an refresh rate of 60... which is way smoother then 50 for sure...
no.. its perfectly smooth as it is... its just that noise surrounding the people in playback that needs to be tuned !!

By "change in profile" ... do u mean the profile in SVP manager... ?
And by "artifacts" i asume u are refering to the wave lenght noise surround poeple and not macroblocks in → Low Bitrate ← movies  big_smile

Cuz that was an screenie of untouched DVD-9 movie Elysium..

I have not changed much in the svp video profiles ... except for frame interpolation = uniform max smoothness...
all other settings is default except for the frame crop and that 1 setting in video profiles..

i also have tried to change motion vector grid to large 32 px and this seems to nullify the noise almost completely ... but the image stutters again .. and isnt as smooth anymore... so i rather choose for max frame interpolation instead...

I have resseted the profles once to let svp choose the right settings more or less.
And thats what i use , except for the frame interpolation.. that i like to have on max velocity  big_smile

but i know what you trying to say.. and i have used the default settings at first..
I always use the default settings first when i try something new... but because of a few issue like this one now, i have started to experiment with it ..  I only make changes when its neccesarry to try and enhance experience...

thanks for your thoughts,

- increase "motion vectors grid" value

- use better sources  big_smile it's not a joke - sharper and clearer source leads to the better result

and DO NOT set all settings to "max" values unless you know what you're doing!

yeap...  i just have read your post / advise in another thread about some one else that had a similar prob>..
Back there you suggest to use framecrop by Four pixels ..

And indeed , its not totaly fixed by doing that .. but it looks much better now...

@ lt.wilkins...

Wow... tis is an challenge indeed .. by the looks of ur system specs... only my gpu is superiour to yours .. and Gpu might be as important as cpu since SVP uses both gpu + cpu in tandem and can very demanding .. depending on which settings u use!!

Hey... Wots important toOO...  what revision of MPC-HC are u using ...  Cuz the one that comes with the SVP package is already outdated .. 1.6.xx me thinks... And the latest stable release is 1.7.1x ← this is an huge leap forward that might bring several fixes..

It fixed several issues for me atleast !!!

Else, i woudnt know what to change since i just started to use svp+mpc since an few days..

I would try my luck and do what the developers suggests...  he ought to know what is the best setting ..  He/she is the masterbrain behind this project after all  big_smile

But then again,  1 general settings is seldom the right setting for so many different hardware settups that people use !!

I bid you farewell and good luck...

I have read somewhere, this is an common issue that can't be helped because of the kind of method svp uses currently .. and is programmed this way ... but just maybe...  theres a way to mask the problem with some filters / settings !!

Thanks in advance,

"automatic fullscreen exclusive mode" does actually increase dropped frames for me. Only by like 20 in a 45 minutes video but its not when that mode is not active (besides that its quiet anoying how long it takes to switch between video and desktop) while the image is flickering.

Does it realy takes that long to switch to Exlusive mode dear Fanny?

Well tell u wut... since iam in an Xmiss mode ill try and lent you a hand ... but i want it back ... MY HAND THAT IS ... and not a BACKUP of my hand .. i want the REAL THING  ... mkay  .. chortles big_smile ?

In my case the switch goes like instant ... even though Madvr setting is only after 3 secconds.. i know weird  hmm !!  But ALL THE BETTER FOR ME  lol

Maybe tampering with the launch countdown (ie 3secs) would solve your prob !!

Just wild lguessing now ... since i havent had that issue you had .. just yet !!

Hey First class Lieutenant.welkin aye...  big_smile

Iam maybe the answer to your prayers  wink

I have SOLVED my issue that is somewhat similar to yours.. ie. dropped frames... and SVP keep turning on / off inlike berserker mode ON/OFF  yikes  !!!!

I knew the settings had to be screwed up , because and i said it in my previous post... I have watched whole movies without an hickkup using SVP the first time i started to use IT...
But i might have shot myself in the BIGfoot by experimenting with different settings in mpc-hc and other external apps !!

Now... these are the steps and settings i currently use

First settup MPC-HC ← , that wos the cullprit in my case !!!

Check the filter section and check if you have the following in the exact order...  Yep the order in which you enable those external filters too (have learned it the hardway)... even though you cannot prioritize the order in mpc !! unless u delete it all again !!!!

now... check this out..

1.LAV Audio decoder
2.Lav Video Decoder ← This one... for SURE  hmm
3.FFdshow Video Decoder
4.FFDshow raw Video Filter

Done and done  big_smile

now for MadVR setting... realy that doesnt matter to me... what ever setting i choose everything just keeps playing nice with eachother  big_smile  .. the cullprit in my case where those lav decoders not beeing present and in the right order !!!

but ill post my setting anyway ..

MadVR setting

Processing:

Decoding = unchecked all boxes
Deinterlacing = unchecked all boxes (since i use FFDshow for filtering = more filters to play with ) Also, i think if you set XX times an deinterlace filter they might conflict with eachother .. not sure .. just tryying to play safe...

Scaling Algorithms:

Chroma upscale = Jinc , 3taps, Active anti-ringing
Image Upscale = " dito " + Scale in linear light
Downscale = default (catmull-rom) for the time beeing..

Rendering General setting:

Enable Auto exclusive screen = V checked
Use seperate device for presentation = V → checked
Cpu Queu size = 22 → slightly higer
Gpu Queu size= 14 → " dito" :D

Window mode setting = default

Exclusive mode settings:

Show seekbar + Delay switch + present frames in advance = V → checked
How many frames you might ask = 8 :D
other settings beneath = default

Smooth motion is = V Checked + Always

Trade quality boxes = → All ← UNCHECKED

I have spent litteraly hours searching for the root of this phenomenon  mad  !!!!  And all i had to do is to check the external filters in the first place  roll  !!!

But then again.. The system specs are important aswell..
What is your system specs Lt. wilkens...

my KEWL system specs are:

System:

Windows 7 x64 SP1+

CPU = AMD PHENOM II x4 965be@4.0Ghz / 1.400v = 47C° Load / OCCT
Liquid-Air cooled = Kuhler 920
RAM = DDR2-800 (pc6400)
GPU = HD7950 Sapphire OC (Factory Overclocked)
SSD = Kingston KC300 / 240GB
PSU = OCZ 750 WAtt / SLI
Hobo= MA3N32-MVP Deluxe

And i can even MAX out NEAR everything in SVP and still have SMOOTH playback  big_smile
Settings such as → Complex Shader algorithm, decrease grid step and Motion vectors grid are very CPU/GPU demanding no kidding here  tongue  !! Like CPU load of between 70-80%  when everythign is maxed out  hmm .. AND THAT IS WHIT THE ADDITIONAL HELP OF my POWERFULL NEW GPU HD7950 card  !!!!!!

Else my cpu would drown probebly  roll

FTW SERIOUSLY . yEAp . tongue

Done and Done... → no more dropped frames for me nor SVP going berserk with its on/off mode !!!

OH OH .. AND BIG README EDIT THIS::  After all is said and done ... maybe good to take an BACKUP of ur SETTINGS in mpc-hc for starters ..
Cuz you mentioned earlied that you didnt quite knew for sure what the settings where back when it played just fine Lt.wilkens...

Ill sure will do...

Cheerios..
metagondria,

Also... have i mentioned the usefullness of plastic...  neutral
You can pay and play it on every device (stand alone) player  tongue

I don't expect to drag an external everywhere and make it work by just connecting it to an TV set !!!!  Since most smart tv's only read compressed media files and not dvd/bd structurers like video_ts folders or M2TS = BD nor disc images like iso,img,mds...

You see my point... the fact is its safer and more user friendly.

True, having an 2nd backup of all the good stuff is an golden rule that applies to nearlhy everytying..
But if you only have room for 1 backup i think its safe to distribute it as widely as possible on several plastics .. you know...  instead of using 1 big huge plattern disk to store thousands of movies that might damage and fail beyond repair !!!

Sure you can buy 2 4TB hdd's , but still the chance they both fail with an time period of 5 - 10 years is still much larger then that all of my 2000+ plastics will fail at once in that period .. you know...

And when that happends, iam not sure that it will be cost efficient anymore in the long run !!!!

Yes.... i confirm that too...

Unfortunately... it happend with me too today !?

Windowed mode 0 drops... fullscreen every so often dropped frame causing SVP to turn of and on which cause the inevitable STUTTER playback again  hmm

change setting in madvr like read ahead / queu framerate doesnt solve anything !!!!  Well at first i thought.. but eventually svp drops on and off again !!

And indeed the source get like downgraded to 8bit !!

Weird though why i haven't had this sooner, SVP seems to perform inconsistently !!!  One time its perfect even in fullscreen and next SVP turns on and off all the time probely to resync the whole shabbaamm..  but doing that causes microstutters again ...  just the one thing i dislike about watching movies and the reason why i use an true motion sollution !!

Could be very well be an madvr issue... because choosing custom EVR mode is even wurse !!!!   SVP chops one and off every 30 secs or so !!!

So...the renderer might have something to do with it aswell !!!

darn it.... so close to perfectioin .. yet so far ...
