Is it the same as manually turn on HDR mode in display settings before Kodi launch and turn it off after closing Kodi?

Yes, but instead of two step, this is do it in one, when you click on AUTOHDR.exe turn on HDR mode at the same time launch Kodi and exit Kodi switch HDR mode off.

I came across this todayhttps://github.com/fandangos/AutoHDR/releases, and I thought it could be useful, I tried it with kodi and mpv as an external player and it works, please comment if someone can think of how to use it in some svp profile or in some other way only with svp, thanks!

Thanks to both, one more question you changed the tolerance and vfr_diff under all settings, because yesterday playing around with those, i mess up the values , can you tell me which are the correct ones. Thanks

Hi, as I say in the title after today update when set specific target value or force exact value dont has the effect like before, in the program icon before is reported "playing at 60fps" or when force exact value change 59.940 to 59.946 or so, what can i do for this working like before. Thanks in advance.

Thank you both, the suggestion of James D plus manual selection in preview and fine tuning, fix the problem! I guess for the moment I do it that way for this kind of files

Hi there, helpme understand why this happens, when black bars detection is enable with mpv some files 4k hdr , the movie instead of display onto all size of screen, play like a square in the middle, oddly same settings on mpc hc play properly, i have several movies 4k hdr, the only I think of is that the ones with this behavior are h. 265

Which do you think it's the best combination for this option, and thanks for all involved in the best program ever.

What exactly is your question even?

From what I can understand, you have a new PC and it has fewer artifacts when using SVP? Or did I misunderstand here?

If I didn't misunderstand, what is the problem?

Yes exactly that, it is not a problem, it is simply that according to the answer that Chainik gave me, and from what I read in the forum the previous PC should do the job without problem, now that if my question had been, I will see some improvement If I update my PC (obviously with the components already mentioned), what would be the answer.

I saw some movies a thousand times, and i know when/where the artifacts are introduced, for that i am sure is not placebo effect , taking your answer as a fact , is leading me to think that the improvement is not on the svp side, so only for the need to know and gain knowledge, what you think may be, i dont think is madvr, being more gpu demanding than cpu .

I upgrade my htpc/gaming pc , i usually play bd rips 1080p upscale to 4k whit Madvr and Ngu High, my understand was that my old pc is enough to run this 60hz perfectly
Now running the new one is less artifact, is more pleasent experience, less artifacts. My cuestion is : as the title says "where is the gain in performance occured", someone can explain it , the i7 3770k fall short , or is the increase of memory or what .I know for sure is no placebo effect and the settings in svp is exactly the same.

Hi, I being trying different combinations of settings for obtain the best viewing experience at the same time don't burn my htpc, I use madvr (ngu scalling 1080p videos to 4k) along with svp something that I wouldn't trade off, so I read in this forum that setting the option with top of coarse level =small save cpu power, but what this option actually do and how impact in the smoothness and artifacts.
Gtx 1070,I7 3370k, 8gb ram.

I realy think that the only one value is suitable for SVP: VSync = on.
All other values can lead to tearing artifacts.
VSync = Fast is looks like lifehack wink

Lifehack=a strategy or technique adopted in order to manage one's time and daily activities in a more efficient way. smile

MAG79 I always think that way but with VSync=on
http://www.legitreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/vsync-on-stutter.png

and the other hand VSync=off
https://www.gamersnexus.net/images/media/2014/ces/GSYNC7-1000x562.jpg

then Adaptive VSync =on is not entirely suitable, because eliminate tearing but stuttering
http://international.download.nvidia.com/webassets/en_US/shared/images/articles/introducing-the-geforce-gtx-680-gpu/AdaptiveVSync-2-650.png

what take us to the point of choose Fast Sync (Pascal and Maxwell)

I came back from work decided to eliminate my stuttering problems, so while traveling to my house I was thinking which setting could be affecting reproduction, and I remembered reading a post about V-sync, so i told myself , this  will be the first to try, https://www.geforce.com/Active/en_US/shared/images/articles/introducing-the-geforce-gtx-680-gpu/AdaptiveVSync-1-650.png, now when drop down the options on nvidia control panel I spot and option call "fast" , reading the description below, I click this option with the certainty ,that will solve my problem and it did!!! http://simhq.com/forum/files/usergals/2016/07/full-14437-124326-fastsync.jpg
I hope this be usefull to other users

Hi DlR5668, thanks for reply, and if you set FSE, is the problem occurs? Or which settings brings the micro stutter.

EDIT :I overlook your post, that you use reclock, so bring the question is reclock the only possible way

This happen for me too, and I notice that every time this is discussed, no one really fixed,or no one posted, I don't want to switch to EVR, so what we really do to solve this, or more precisely what we looking for cause , I will post any information required. Thanks in advance

Thanks for reply MAG79 I just try the program you suggested ,and because I generally upscale 1080p to 4k , wanna recorded in that resolution , with OBS Studio the maximun resolution available is 1920x1080, anyway I can save a couple of videos with the option in the geforce expirience , what do you think I be able to upload whithout losing quality and frame rate

What do you thinks is the best way for recording the real time work of svp, without interfere the smoothness, I don't mean convert videos, I want to share and compare results with others and discuss on both videos and settings.

I use Mpc-be x64, Madvr 0.92.4, Lav Filters 0.70.2.77

meh, u better start using things like Reclock (0 dropped frames with integer SVP multiplier) and madvr remove banding, ringing, advanced Chroma scaling and so on

The only thing I dont use that you mentioned is Reclock, I use madvr with ngu scaling, anti-ringing and most of the benefits of this program, mostly 1080p videos upscale to 4k, and when change this option (D3D11 lav filters) at least for my looks way better .

This sounds interesting, how do I use this D3D11 option for LAV filters, could you please put up some instructions?

Its simply an option in lav filters video option , go to filters , lav video filters on the tab hardware acceleration select d3d11.

What SVP Settings are you using? I fixed the performance issues I was having with 4K videos already by using MPC x64 and changing the settings below.

I'm running a GTX 1070 and a 4790K @ 4.6Ghz on a Sony X800D 4K HDR TV.

First of all, you want to right click SVP and go to "Video Frame" and select "Keep Normal Size".

http://i.imgur.com/9CDlp0N.png

Second of all, I use the settings below for 4K videos, you don't need to have 3X Movie Frame Rate selected, just choose to SCREEN. The most important aspect, is to keep "Decrease Grid Step" on DISABLED.

http://i.imgur.com/36Cg9nm.png

I posted as links instead of images because on normal 1080p screens those images would take a lot of space for most people.

EDIT - MUST DO THESE:

I forgot, in Madvr Settings go to Devices (Left Menu) --> Choose your TV/Monitor --> Properties --> Under 3D Format, choose None.

Go to Rendering (Left Menu) --> Stereo 3D --> Disable ALL.

Go to Processing (Left Menu) --> Artifact Removal --> Disable BOTH.

Go to Scaling Algorithms (Left Menu) --> Image Downscaling --> Choose Lanczos (3 Taps).
--------------------------------------------- > Chroma Upscaling --> Jinc (Tick enable ONLY activate anti-ringing filter).
--------------------------------------------- > Image Upscaling --> Jinc (Tick enable BOTH activate anti-ringing filter & scale in sigmoidal light).

Hi Blackfire, I tried the settings that you submit and i help me to reproduce 4k content, a dropped frame here and there but that´s normal and I wondering where to push a little more to increase quality.
what settings do you use for 4k on svp?
I got a I73770k and a Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 , MPCHC , Madvr 0.91.11, lav filters 0.70.10 and SVP 4.1.0.114. on a tv Lg UF8500
I totally agreed about of the big difference of reproduce natively 4k.

Hi Chainik,  thanks for reply , yeah I think so too, 59,94 and it's done, especially when using a TV, until now is what I use , I already try the new option, and I have to say that work great for my, even better than before, downside of all this watching without svp it's getting harder every time, I mean friends house, girlfriend house, even when I go to a cinema, but don't worry I can't handle it, thanks for this awesome program ;-)

Hi, question for chainik about the statement of backfire regarding of setting the smooth motion on madvr, it's that right? , for my I think no only increase the renders time, what could leave of dropping frames and also diminished the flow of smoothness.

Ok, I took his advice, one more question that has been around my mind,  affects in some way the behavior of SVP  the adaptive HW of lav filtrers video decoder( mode film or video) a  23.976 file, for some reason I see defferences when its on, but I cant tell for sure one or the other is best.
