Mpc had some issues where it could't render mkv videos, and when i reinstalled mpc hc, now svp won't work?

Still only uses the integrated after changing those settings hmm Cpu 2 core and memory clock is spiking tho, but it seems like botht he integrated and the cpu is rendering it

I guess I'll just try to get the long method done. I tried NGP but upon trying to open the Media Encoder the error "an unhandled exception occurred" is thrown.

100 bucks is what  paid for it. WEll, it's better than paying 4 times more for a proper cpu or gpu.

Plus, if you had even the slighest idea of what you are talking about, you would realise that no phone is even half powerful enough to do motion-based frame interpolation.

The only thing you can do is pre-interpolate on your computer, then play that file on your phone. This will however take multiple hours to interpolate one file.

And which program could interpolate videos?

afaik you don't need to understand what the hell is "natural grounding", you just press on "convert" button or what it's called there...

I agree on this. Use svp for 60 fps, then use a recording program to record the video. I used mirillis action which can record relatively small videos.

I say again, my computer can't handle running SVP and recording at the same time.

It can barely run SVP normally. Just turning on "decrease grid step" ruins the playback. SVP runs just on the edge of lagging by itself on my machine.

Then simply get an external capture card. I use Hauppauge HD PVR2 gaming edition when i am recording console gameplays

Well, i don't know, when i choose the 980m, i see the intel hd graphics at 100% with low fps, the 980m is barely being touched. And if i use the cpu, it spikes up to 80-90c And the 980m dualfans are not really even spinning much cause it's not in use with svp.

I tried that, still it uses the intel hd graphics

Why not?

And what scripts do i need to enable this?

It uses the intel hd4600 instead of the 980m which has the dual fan cooler and which has the best performance to use for SVP, why is that? Even in the nvidia settings it shows that the program is locked at intel hd graphics.

Yep, found it smile so i can just use the same old licence key but now on 2 pc's after the purchase?

It says that additional licences are 10 bucks, how do i start that procedure? there was no paypal button for the additional licence, only for the single 15 bucks licence.

Wait, did you actually try a vapoursynth script?

Plays MKV files just fine for me. What phone do you have, and what version of Android?

Didn't know i had to add scripts?

S7 edge, android 6.0.1

I saw some Github chatter about the mpv devs not wanting an Android version, but that was a long time ago.

wm4 usually doesn't want much platform specific stuff inside mpv and rather have people use mpv as library. That's what some other mpv dev (or ffmpeg? can't remember) did to test feasibility of mpv android: https://github.com/mpv-android/mpv-android
I don't know if this is more than a tech demo or if it's really neatly usable (for end users). I recall having read something about gestures for seeking etc., so there should be basic functionality for that (in mpv-android).

Oh wow... That Android test build is awesome:

It even decodes DTS audio:

4K HEVC isn't working on my HTC 10 (playback is slow), but to be fair it doesn't work in any other Android player anyway.

Chainik/MAG, I think that day has come.

For me it doesn't matter the screens, i want fluidness no matter what size it's played on.

I would too.

It'd be a really interesting test anyway, as its uses every major part of your phone except the encoding block and the flash, all at once.

In fact, that would make a hell of a benchmark:

* Download 4k24 HEVC video clip from a test server. (wifi/LTE radio)
* Hardware decode it (decoding block)
* Interpolate to 60p using SVP (CPU/GPU)
* Hardware encode it (encoding block)
* Upload to test server (other part of LTE/wifi radio).

It'd be the ultimate Android benchmark, a true test of your phone's capabilities and condition. Hell, I'd probably pay for it as a separate app.

Hehe yeah, but i would not kill it with 4k videos lol, but low sized 1080p ones tongue (1.5GB to 4GB ones)

Depends on the phone. CAuse i can watch 6 or 7  20 minute videos in VR cinema via gear VR, so doubt that svp will kill it that much faster. (s7 edge)

Oh, it will. SVP + MPV would would load the ALL your CPU cores, the GPU, AND video decoding block almost completely, + your LTE/Wifi radio if you're streaming the video.

A intense 3d game, for instance, would load maybe 1 CPU core, a bit of another, and the GPU down. Samsung's VR cinema would load the decoding block and a little bit of the CPU/GPU. Netflix loads the decoding block (or the CPU if things go wrong) and your radio.

In other words, SVP is way worse than the worst case scenario on Android. It would probably make most phones throttle.

Yeah, but i would love to test it through the development if they ever started on an android port ^^

Will there be a chance for svp to arrive for android? By having cpu and gpu acceleration at the same time to reach up to 48, 60 and 90 fps?

Cause i really love svp but would love it even more to have on the go on my phone/tablet

Yep, updated the drivers and now the gpu can be used.

However, for some reason, i can't use svp anymore. Each time i go fullscreen d3d and pause the video both my screens go black and won't go back on, so had to reset the pc to fix it. So i uninstalled it as there was a new tv episode i wanted to watch.

Plus it still asks for the key on each boot. And that annoys the hell out of me..

Fixed it by reinstalling windows. Apparently svp doesn't handle reactivation on a new mobo so well without reinstalling windows, same with the wifi card.

But to another issue, after i reinstalled windows, it no longer detect my gpu as supported. Had this issue once before, but can't remember how i resolved that one..

And for another one, why doesn't svp have "open file" option anymore? And why is there no option to choose the path for my own default player? Feels like it has changed since i installed it last.

James D wrote:

New motherboard = new PC, what you don't get? There is a key which contains few activations so that it can hold registration info for few motherboards.
Or are you complaining that while you have 3 slots of registration they don't hold 2 motherboards if switching them?

I have already re-registered the thing on this "mobo" 3 times already since i switched. Also i suspect svp to be the one which cancels out the wifi card aswell. Cause when i reattach the wifi, it then asks for reg key again.

Each time i reboot my pc after mobo switch i have to reactivate it and remove the old activation each time? the heck is wrong here?
