Strange thing man, this time SVP worked fine. This error happens randomly I guess but happens too often that SVP is unusable when I need it most

I use the GeForce Driver 314.07 (x64)

I am really not in the mood of uninstalling SVP 3.1.4 and reinstalling 3.1.3 to compare the difference in memory consumption usage

any thing else I should try to fix this bro?

I am getting the following error when trying to run a video with SVP

Please help

I am running on a freshly installed Windows 8 Pro with all windows updates and no Antivirus yet

I installed the latest SVP FULL version 3.1.4

http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/3193/captureyib.png

I have always only used LAV Splitter but since Haali splitter is included by default in the SVP Package, I was wondering is it better than LAV?

Mind you, I use LAV Video Decoder and LAV Audio Decoder

do you suggest I switch to Haali as my Audio Splitter or keep LAV?

It's been a while since there has been an update to SVP, there are FFdshow update, LAV, madVR, and MPC already

When will we get an update? This is my favorite PC app smile

Thanks

I got an out of memory error message almost 3 seconds after I started one of my porn videos, here is the log

I am using the latest stuff:

FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder 2012-09-20
madVR v0.83.4
LAV Filters v0.51.3
Avisynth v2.5.8
ReClock v1.8.7.9

I was thinking the same thing, it's been 2 months since the last update

I understand, the issue was caused by Bitdefender Internet Security. The moment I uninstalled it everything works fine now

but still, I wish some day there will be an x64 version of SVP. Offcourse, when AVIsynth is ready and stable

My SVP settings are all on default, I didn't change a thing except enabling "Detect Variable framerate" mode

Things have improved drastically since I changed the LAV decoder from CUVID to DXVA, no more hangs when moving through diff. sections of a movie. I don't know if I am missing out on any quality by doing that but I am stil using madVR so.... I dunno

Just wondering, it's been years since there are always variants of the x64 edition of MPC-HC and I am wondering, why does it even exist?

1) Is there a 64 bit ffdshow?

2) People say LAV doesn't work well on 64 bit yet there is a 64 bit LAV? I am confused, what gives?

3) Does madVR work on the 64 bit edition of MPC-HC?

4) Finally, and most importantly, does SVP work with 64 bit edition of MPC-HC?

I don't see the point in this 64 bit edition thing sad

Today I was watching a movie which is around 2.5 GB and I got an error either from MPC-HC or SVP (not sure) that the program ran out of memory and I must restart it, this is what made me think, I wish I Was able to install the 64 bit edition of MPC-HC and make use of the 16 GB RAM that I have

I recommened SVP to some members on the ASUS forums with a small guide on how to make the best of SVP using their GTX670M / specific notebook,

you can read my guide here: Asus G75VW Ultimate Video Playback / Audio Guide

Now, a member on the forums replied to me saying:

AlanMcKinnon;153337 wrote:

So I finally got everything to work, but I guess I misunderstood the uses of it.  This only works on video files already on my harddrive?  As in, it won't affect DVDs/Blu-rays or anything else?

Can you please help me reply to him with a logical explanation as I have no idea I've never tried to run SVP on external media since all my movies are on the HDD

Thanks

I remember while using the Makens Guide somewhere down the line I was asked to install DirectX 9 but I quickly cancelled as I have 11 installed

Is 9 essential for PotPlayer / some of the components to work?

What is the rule usually? one would only need the latest DirectX right? or should he have the older ones too?

Isn't it better to use LAV if one has a GeForce?

In my case, I am using a GeForce GTX 670 ....

I followed the instructions for the guide of Makens and everything is working just fine but I was wondering if it's better to also add the LAV decoder and if so how to do it

I have always used the default settings and was wondering, are there any settings I should change to get better quality?

I am using MPC-HC + LAV (CUVID) + madVR +ffdshow raw video filter

any settings I should change in SVP itself?

Here are my notebook specs:
