You're sure this is not variable frame-rate video source?
I'm prefer looking another video source with fixed frame-rate than watching using "Video frame rate repair". No effect
Maybe you missed before
Try with preset ultrafast
Do you mean juddering sometimes in some scenes?
The causes are one or several points below
1. It actually 24fps but due to dynamically high motion, the processing exceeding 100% (for CPU). So it's the matter of CPU.
2. If the video source directly from BDMV, it means the studio didn't give enough frames for that particular scene. This can only be asked to the studio
3. If the video is encoded source, the cause maybe low setting in encoding. Even SVP cannot solve this. Ask the video encoder to re-encode the video.
FYI, I've watched Expelled from Paradise, and I experienced some lags in several scenes.
But that's because my PC is medium spec while the video is 1080p high-quality.
My system handles SVP for real-time motion interpolation handily, I'm almost always above 1 on the performance rating during playback.
Note that no heavy encoding process for SVP, CMIIW
the conversion is excruciatingly slow and often takes over 3x the time it would take to watch the file (ie:24 minute video file takes over an hour to convert).
This quite fast considering you're encoding h264
No matter what options I use (eg:tune, GPU acceleration), the time to convert is still far longer than just watching the video with SVP and the result is not noticeably better than what SVP does.
It's not matter better or not, it's converted so people who can't use SVP still be able to watch video in 60fps (Yes, for those Linux and Mac folks).
Of course, the wait will be over if SVP 4 supports cross-platform
Rather than using the software in that guide, I'd be better off just watching my videos that I want to convert with SVP enabled and recording them at 60 FPS That can't be right.
If they (the consumer of your video recording) are fine with big file size, that would be wonderful.
How can I speed up converting my video files?
If you're not really familiar with every x624 option, you're best bet would be using preset ultrafast
It's because the idea of encoding the encoded source not always the smartest option, so, in order to conserve the quality of encoded file, it can be helped to set the higher quality option which in turn slower the encoding

If I put "AviSynth" on the Available-filters list in the "Show/hide filters"-ffdshow decoder configuration window while playing back a video I have an average CPU workload of 20%. If I do nothing it is about 45%.
Do you have latest NVIDIA driver?
If yes, have you enabled the CUDA?
MAG79 has already pointed when someone experienced bad playback in this post.
Btw, getting ~45% when playback using SVP is pretty much normal in my case.
Without SVP, it downs to maximal 20% (usually 13%-17%), when using DXVA it's only 2-3%
Here is the filters list from "MPC-HC - Play - Filters":
Filters currently loaded:
- Default DirectSound Device
- Enhanced Video Renderer (custom presenter)
- Audio Switcher
- ffdshow raw video filter
- LAV Audio Decoder (internal)
- LAV Video Decoder (internal)
- LAV Splitter Source (internal)
Maybe you can choose different setting?
In my case, I don't add ffdshow raw video filter as external filter but instead I just enable Raw video to be processed by ffdshow.
... because you don't want to install mpc-hc, ffdshow and madVR separately?
Nah, the easiest would be take SVP package and install it,
One more thing, I just want to install everything freshly, could someone guide me to install MPC-HC, madVR with SVP?
If you're fine with codec pack, I posted one how to install from fresh. This link
Are the lags happened when you're playing it full screen?
How about windowed player?
I've experienced like yours sometimes for some files, but the different is, my PC are just medium spec.
I would say that's normal but please attach additional information.
Btw, do you enable variable frame rate repair?
I've experienced that enabling variable frame-rate repair make it worse.
For the starter, is there any different if you make your setting default?
I guess, you're using SVP shader no.2?
Mystery
It's better if you don't hardcode the path
Has anyone tried watching anime using MPDN?
I observed no differences between MPDN and MPC/PotPlayer regarding the artifacts (when watching anime),
so I want to make sure whether it's just the same or I just couldn't notice the differences.

Thank you, now ReClock less annoying
Nachbar
That setting is for hiccup audio in vfr video,
it's not for solving the missing video stream
I have this issue since the starting using SVP.
I had no video stream also but after reinstalling ReClock, the video stream was found but cannot detect 60fps.
The strange thing is, this is only happened with .mkv files, all .mp4 files are detected 60fps fine.
But, in the end I'm not worry about it, because SVP still functional regarding of this issue.
Moreover, sometimes I feel ReClock is really annoying, especially when I watch vfr video. The audio just like hiccup when the video is vfr
Uhhh, SVP doesn't even work with native...
Lastly, you didn't say anything about your iGP. Do you not have one? I know that SVP in particular can be set to use your integrated GPU rather than your discrete GPU.
So, SVP cannot use DXVA right?
I have integrated one, but can it be used together with the discrete one?
How to do it?
Edit: After looking several articles, it seems integrated GPU and discrete GPU can't be used together
Yeah, unfortunately lowering down the madVR setting is the only way
I'm using DXVA native, which is better copyback or native?
When I maximize the GPU clock setting in amd overdrive, from 775 to 850, it crashes my system
And after reboot from that crash, I try again, this time madVR that crashes
and my favorite is svp 3.15.
Have you tried SVP 3.1.6?
That version should already be able to decode HEVC.

Sorry, I forgot to add this, it starts to drop frames only after full-screen
when full-screen, GPU load 94%, when windowed 79-87%
Nintendo Maniac 64
Yes, my CPU using hyper-threading, but there's case when SVP makes CPU load 100%.
Based on GPU load, I think my GPU is not strong enough to handle the load
Oh, I've been meaning to ask this too
I usually have to change the setting manually.
Whoa, that's really severe banding artifacts.
As far I can see, the banding artifacts from original frame are interpolated too.
For any 8-bit video, I've never downloaded 1080p HS version.
It's said that 1080p from HS (or CR specifically) is never truly 1080p, cmiiw
For TV capped version, I only download 720p so that's why I've never found the strong banding when using SVP.
The madVR default setting for dithering algorithm is ordered dithering (it's written as fast alternative to Error Diffusion).
So I want to change the option Error Diffusion - option 2 in order to suppress the noise.
But as soon I choose this option, the player starting to drop the frames, the CPU utilization is higher but never 100%, about 50-70% (compared when usual setting only 20-40% with sometimes past 50% but not always).
This is only happened in full-screen mode, not in windowed mode.
The effect is like I set the masking artifacts, the video lose its smoothness.
Can anyone explain why is this happened? Is there any way to workaround for it?
As I happy with my default setting, I just curious whether Error Diffusion and SVP can be chained together.
It's actually Ctrl + left/right arrow; just left/right arrow skip forward or backwards by 5 seconds.
That's actually shortcut key for MPC-BE in my system. And the reverse (just like I posted) for MPC-HC.
But one can set it to whichever he/she likes.
Kadano
Press F when playing with PotPlayer to move frame-by-frame. With MPC-HC, I think it's arrow left/right.
Apart from that, I can't find that strong banding when SVP is activated,
or maybe there's difference and I just fail to notice it.
I'm setting the ffdshow output to PO10 instead of auto, not sure if this affects somehow.
But please explain why size has much to do with it. If *I* can see the ball, why can't software?
Because it deemed as noise because of its small size?
Not really sure how the code interprets motion of small object.
I guess it's down to motion vector grid? Smaller the grid is more accurate?
Chainik
Yeah, I need to set the profile quite low for 1080p video
I thought the lagging when playing 1080p (sometimes, not always) due to my slow cpu.
Just note that newer isn't always faster; in terms of performance you should almost always* ignore the first number of a CPU or GPU product since the first number is the equivalent of the year model on cars.
*I say almost because typically if all the other numbers are the same, like 6770 vs 7770, the one with the larger first number will be faster. Also, the bigger the gap between the first number, the larger the difference - a HD7770 would be quite a bit faster than an HD4770 to the point that an HD7750 would probably be faster than said HD4770.
Thanks, I don't follow any GPU or CPU info nowadays. I'm not a gamer and my PC mainly for watching, I guess the TS is same that's why he only cares the GPU that can play 1080p on 144Hz
