yep
smooth.scene.limits.scene
smooth.scene.limits.blocks

the bad thing is that values that work good with resizing to 720p doesn't seems to work with 1080p and 4K

Could you give more detailed info on how to increase the algorithm's strength when transcoding 1080p video, with examples?

Would it be possible to add an option in the GUI to simplify this process? I still find RIFE unusable with the hideous scene transitions.

you'd better provide a sample video if you want this fixed

There are examples of scene changes from fast motion to still image at 14 and 35 seconds. Neither NVOF or SVP identified the one at 14 seconds, but SVP did catch the one at 35 seconds while NVOF didn't. Interestingly, there's a cut at 1:02 (after Ang puts his arms out to gain speed) that SVP didn't detect but NVOF did.

Thanks for the link you provided. I'll look into it.

I was excited to see the new scene change options but on testing the results seem worse than using image comparison (which is itself very bad). There were instances where the cartoon scene switched from high velocity movement in one shot to a perfectly motionless image in the next, yet there were heavy artifacts in the transition.

Would it be possible to add an option to configure the sensitivity of the motion detection, or even allow a combination of image comparison and motion detection at the same time?

So now I'm using the original uncut file and it says it will convert to 60fps, but it outputs at 23.976 fps.

When I remove the lavfi filter "crop=iw-400:ih-552,scale=1920:896" it converts to 60fps.

Is it impossible to scale and crop video when transcoding or is there a workaround for this?

You're absolutely right. It must be because I was testing with a clip made in LosslessCut which can give janky results. Thanks a million for your help again!

I added the lavfi filter "crop=iw-400:ih-552,scale=1920:896" to crop and scale a movie and ran RIFE AI with framerate set to 60fps. The scaling worked fine but the output was still 23.976.

When I tried again I noticed that the FPS output goal was now changed to 111.753, and selecting any other profile shows a different, seemingly random output FPS goal. I removed the lavfi filter, restarted SVP, then rebooted, but the fps goal still shows incorrectly in every profile and the video still outputs at 23.976.

Any idea what's gone wrong here? Does using lavfi filters usually cause this problem? Do I need to reinstall SVP? Is scaling and cropping impossible when transcoding?

Black bars aren't removed when I set cropping to "Disabled". It does work if I select cropping "To screen", but I just want the black bars removed from the image for transcoding without any scaling.

ask google for x265 / ffmpeg encoding guides...

Thanks for the reply.

I can't find anything helpful. I'll just use CRF.

Still can't figure this out. Hope someone can help.

I changed crf=18 to b=5000000 but the result looks awful and Mediainfo shows that it encoded the video stream at 196Kb/s.

What am doing wrong?

For the last few weeks, this problem happens randomly when I right-click on MPV to resume a paused video. The image stays frozen and the audio continues playing.

Sometimes it also happens when I left-click the MPV window to select it. It only happens with SPV running.

I've tried reinstalling SPV, updating MPV to the latest version, and about a million different combinations of settings in both SPV and MPV (including basic defaults).

EDIT: Lowering my RAM speed and voltage seems to have fixed the problem.

SVP runs buttery smooth at 1080/144 fps as long as I use 8-bit output, but I notice jarring stuttering during scenes with camera movement if I activate 10-bit output. This happens even with the slider at the far left.

Is this normal due to the extra performance hit or is there something I can do to fix it?

Ryzen 7 2700 @3500hz.

EDIT: Further details... I still get the stuttering at 60 FPS and I'm using MPV.

I tried that before but it wasn't working because I added the condition to a profile that already had another condition set assuming it would work under both conditions.

I made a copy of the profile and set that to use "is network stream" and it works. Many thanks!

By default, it uses my Anime 120hz profile. Is there a way to change this?

Thanks again!

Thanks for looking into this.

I see.

First time I've come across that in months of transcoding pretty much everything I watch. I guess it's that rare.

I assume there's no workaround? I could just get another release of the same anime.

If that's not helpful enough I'll upload a file.

It happens on all 13 episodes of an anime. Every other file seems fine.

All of a sudden, with nothing changing on my system, transcoding doesn't work.

It says it will convert from 0 to 0 FPS (it's set to convert to 120FPS and has worked fine up until now). If I let it run it comes out looking sub-480 levels of low quality.

I can't figure out why this is suddenly happening. Any ideas?

Just converted two movies. Audio is perfectly in sync throughout. Thanks a million for this!

EDIT: I notice that quite often the last temp file in a queue doesn't get deleted. Not a huge deal as I can delete it myself but I thought you should know. smile

Same problem in this thread, with no solution.

Still hoping there'll be a workaround or fix as I would use this feature a lot if it worked properly.

Are there any configurations I can test to see if I can get this working properly? I don't know what commands I should try.

I tried using "preset = veryfast" and it the audio still ends up at least a second out of sync.

Is this something the dev team is looking to fix? It sucks only being able to transcode videos that are 30 minutes or less.
