Hello dear SVP Team,
in this scenario: movie 23,976 fps and TV set to 60Hz reclock adjusts automatically the video to 24 fps (icon stays yellow) and SVP interpolat3s movie by a 5/4 factor, is it how it's supposed to be?
Wouldn't be better if reclock could detect the video infos AFTER SVP in order to properly work in a range close to the TV refresh rate with the icon going green?
What happens if I manually set reclock to 59.94?
Thanks Mag, but for some reason it doesn't work, anyways it's not SVP fault you can close the thread. I'll watch it straight from the blu ray and try to rip with another tool
Thank you Mag, I've downloaded "TIVTC.dll", where do I put it? How can I use it alongside SVP?
Haha no no I'm a good boy I rip my discs without any added compression, quality first of all
Thanks please when you have time give it a look. I will try to watch it directly from the disc (it will take some time because it is in another house of mine) and rip it with another program (anydvd) in .iso format fo see what happens
> a small prtion from the episode
yeah, and it actually IS 29.9 fps>
If it is actually 29.97 how on earth does it play with so much stutter?? Does it look smooth to your eyes??
> PLESE TELL ME HOW TO PLAY IT SMOOTHLY!
throw it away and get normal rip
What do you mean "get a normal rip"? Does "makemkv" change the framerate?
Thanks!
PS I will try to play it directly from the disc using "Anydvd" and report back to see id "Makemkv" is the real coulprit..
Hi Chaink, I extraxced a small prtion from the episode using "MKVToolNix", the mkv was obtaind ripping a legit blueray with "Makemkv", so the file is an exact replica of the source (apart the container of course). It's a panning scene that descibes very well the problem.
PLESE TELL ME HOW TO PLAY IT SMOOTHLY! Thank you!
brrr... I'm lost
obviously if you "force it to do 2X" you'll get 60 fps, and it won't be any fluent playing on the 50 hz screen
That's because SVP is making the interpolation starting from a wrong mediainfo data, I need a way to manually:
- 2X if I want to watch the show in 50Hz
- 2.4X if I want to watch the show in 60Hz
Right know if for instance I force SVP to do 2X it doubles the wrong framerate giving me 59.94fps on 50Hz! I want 25fps X2 on 50Hz.
Thank you :)
In the attachment you'll find mediainfo txt which shows result 29.970 fps, which is wrong because the show was recorded in UK broadcast 1080i/50. I used to see the exact same file with SVP 3.1.7 with the TV set to 50ha and frame doubling overriding the auto detection. I tried to download SVP old version but now it gives me error (see attachment).
What you see in the log is a wrong framerate what I need to know is a way to let SVP think that the file is 25fps
Is it clear??
Hi Chainik, SVP is doing 29.97 *5/3, but even if I force it to do 2X when video set to 50Hz the movie doesn't look fluid, I don't know maybe a pulldown issue? Please keep in mind that I deinterlace it with lav yadif (25p/30p film). Here's the log (I wanted to attach a sample but it is a blu ray rip and it is huge, I tried to extract a 3 minutes sample but is is still over 700MB... THANKS
Hello I have some blurays that are encoded at 1080i/50fps (Reclock reads them correctly), unfortunately for some reason SVP thinks they are 23.974 fps and messes up the interpolation playing them at 59.94 (2X), any ideas?
Hi Chainik, thank you! Without the fan it would't be possible besides when it's hot it is refreshing too You may want to give it a try on your Surface ciao
By the way, in case you're wandering, the film playing in the picture is "Insurgent"
And here's my baby X)
Hello,
I just wanted to share my experience with SVP and my SURFACE PRO 3 i3-4020Y model (Intel® HD Graphics 4200).
1) First of all you have to install SVP (of course ^^) and buy a usb fan (I have an Arctic one which is not noisy at all). The fan is fundamental to allow the system to run at the maximum power without throttling. With the external fan temperatures with the system under stress never ever go above 70° C.
2) Disable all that power savings crap in Intel control panel in order to achieve the maximum visual quality possible.
3) Play movies at 1440@48Hz, not only it is a resolution natively supported by the panel but it also helps with artifacts since you're doubling the framerate.
4) Inside Intel control panel adjust video settings to your liking (I only add a bit of sharpness).
5) In MadVR set the scaling to "DXVA2" (it's visually similar to Lanczos3 AR). Disable gamma processing. Se dithering to "ordered". Let MadVR to detect hard coded bars. Use Direct 3D 11 for presentation. In "trade quality for performance" check the first three options and then the two options of the buffer: choose 10 instead of 16.
6) In LAV Video choose DXVA2 (copy-back) as HD;
7) In Reclock use FastSincInterpolation;
8) Set SVP as shown in the attached file. With these settings CPU never goes up 70% of use and I can play an entire original ripped blu-ray movie with zero frame drops (except at the very beginning).
9) You may want to use the Surface plugged because running at full power the battery won't last long ^^
Now I can enjoy SVP even when I am not at home ^^
Cheers
Setting "Movie x2.5" on both movies solved all the issues, they now play perfectly smooth with 0 frame drops!
THANK YOU SO MUCH MAG FOR THE HELP!
Thank you Mag, "Moviex2" is not helping because I think SVP doubles the wrong framerate. Attached you'll find the logs of 4 tests that I made with 2 different NTSC dvds. In all the tests my plasma TV is set to 60Hz.
Thank you
Hello I have a lot of NTSC dvds that I ripped with "makemkv". They mostly are 720*480 29.970 fps. I have set SVP of course to do frame conversion "to screen". I use MPCHC and my TV is set to 60Hz. When I play the NTSC file SVP triggers and correctly shows "SVP: Playing at 59.94" then it shows "SVP enabled" video runs perfectly smooth, it's perfect, but after a few seconds movie briefly stops and another message appears that might randomly be "SVP: Playing at 59.940" or "SVP: Playing at 59.880" or "SVP: Playing at 60.000" and there is micro stutter everywhere even if it is showing "SVP: Playing at 59.940" and even if there are no frame drops showing in MadVR OSD. This happens with literally every NTSC movie, all pal movies and HD movies play perfectly fine. Can you please help?
Thank you ^^
Reinstalled now everything looks OK
Thanks for the awesome program
Here's attached the log
Thanks Chainik, It's funny because Madvr folder inside SVP shows last version and even "components.xml" shows SVP Manager (Pro) application Version 4.0.0.73
But when SVP 4 Manager is launched it's the previous version (together with MadVR old version V. 0.90.15 (127.0.0.1)):
Date and time: Thursday, 7 April 2016 21:13:34 ora legale Europa occidentale
SVP version: 4.0.0.72/Windows
Thank you guys I think the problem might be that the entire SVP is not auto updating because it reports 4.0.072 any idea on how to solve it?
Besides if I launch "svp4-maintenance.exe" it says no updates are available...
Thanks
Hi there, my SVP4 Pro is bond with MadVR v. 0.90.15 while the current version is 0.90.17, why is not auto-updating? Am I missing something? Thanks
It doesn't explain why "dxva"+"opencl" and "cuvid"+"cpu" still works while "civud"+"opencl" does not.
But I'll check your solution, thanks
Don't bother, it doesn't work, "cuvid"+"opencl" still broken...
