what i've noticed is that the pause and skip doesn't occur when I disabled the GPU accleration so I'm updating the GPU driver to see if that makes any difference.

Hi team,

noticed recently that when I play  clip in MPC-HC 64bit version, the video starts then stops for about 1 second then skips forward like fast forwarding for 1 sec (can see the frames jump) and then it settles down. I've just updated the MPC Player with latest updates through SVP manager.
Is there something wrong with my setup? The SVP processing is through a GTX-1080, running on an i3-4160 CPU with 12Gigs DDR 3 Memory.

Ah ok - thanks that makes more sense to me with DirectShow 64 bit core. Noob i know lol.

Forgive me if i'm sounding inexperienced but do I keep the FFDSHOW 64bit installed and MPC-HC 64bit installed and then run the SVP setup again and follow next>next>next>install>ok ?

Hi,

Can someone please write up a step-by-step guide on setting up the 64bit version to handle SVP 4 PRO?
I have downloaded the 64bit version and am now stuck on the video decoders to use, install etc..
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I had no problems settting up the 32bit version.

Thanks  - I've tried the soft reset, to hard reset but still skips.

Hi,

I have an odd annoying issue which I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I run MPC-HC (32bit) + MadVr+ SVP 4 Pro version (purhased) and the GPU is a GTX 1080. Everything works great except for a nigglying issue where-by if I search anywhere in the media playing it will jump back a few scenes and forward sometimes, like it skips back and then a few random
frames latter catches up to the current scene.
If I temporarily disable SVP then the searching is seamless with no jumps.

I have reset MPC-HC back to default settings, MadVR back to default settings and SVP  4 Pro back to default settings.

Does anyone else experience jumping back in scenes when skipping to a different scene?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I checked the LAV video decoder settings - all is correct .

So if I'm reading the wiki correctly, 50fps will stay at 50fps?
(I understand 60 stays at 60)

Hi Team,

Not sure if this topic belongs here but I've noticed that 50fps clips stay at 50fps in SVP 4 pro.
All other frame-rates are working fine and output to 60fps including 4K content. just not "50fps".

I'm using MPC-HC with MadVR and I've checked that the custom framerates are set to 60 in MPC-HC

Am I missing something?

I've attached the logfile from SVP.

Regards,
Johnny

Yes I was as running SVP 3.1.7 before.. make sure you disable it before installing V 4 and if you can install it into a another directory. It doesn't come with MPC-HC but it picks that up when it's launched so all your MPC-HC settings (if you use that) are safe. You can also add it to the startup bar by copying the shortcut and pasting it into the startup.
CMD prompt then shell:startup.
The ghosting has decreased immensely, to the point of nearly unnoticeable now and that it just with optimal setting, my CPU can't take it to the highest setting but no need as optimal is more than perfect (and my GPU is doing most of the work). I'm actually blown away at how good it runs! Hope that helps you.

Jeff R 1 wrote:

Were you running SVP 3.1.7 before you installed version 4 ?
Is it better then 3.1.7 when it comes to reducing the ghosting/haloing affect ?

Installed without a hitch...and I must say WOW...so far good on optimal settings. The ghosting/haloing around fast moving scenes/people/cars/objects has greatly decreased!!!
I just wanted to say THANKYOU to the developers, great job!

Try using DXVA Native instead of CUVID. CUVID gave me too many problems.

If the video card (GTX980) is set to the projectors native resolution of 4K or 3860 x 2160p (which actually isn't its native resolution, but the video clip is 3860 x 2160p), then MPC-HC crashes with a message that an external filter is the problem and that filter is Avisynth.

If I set the video to out-put at 1920 x 1080p everything works, even SVP, although the native resolution of 3860 x 2160p video clip does make the processor work _ it's at around 56% where normally it's at 11 to 17% with a 1080p video, but that's not a concern anyway.

Also in order for SVP and MPC-HC to work I have to set as you see in the screen shot (note the green box) selecting anything in the green box else also causes MPC to crash, even at 1080p, when playing a 4K video clip.
I have what is in the red box checked off, but I don't if that has anything to do with it.

http://i1271.photobucket.com/albums/jj623/jeffr15/NVIDIA_zpsoicapyzz.png

This is just with a 3860 x 2160p video clip, so at this time it's not that important that I get this to work, plus the fact if I run the video card at 1080p and let the image scale from it's native resolution and then have the projector scale it back to 3860 x 2160p, it still looks absolutely beautiful.
The projector does such an excellent job of scaling, that it makes very little difference when choosing a player that can actually play the clip in it's native resolution.

SVP is also set at 1920 x 800 _ should I be setting that at 3860 x 2160p ?
Thanks.  smile

These are the settings I use after new upgrade to Windows 10 Pro and I also have a GTX 970. And to point out I am using the K-lite Codec Mega Pack, nothing else.
Latest Nvidia Drivers 353.62. I must say that these are the best ever settings I have achieved yet and my CPU is only a dual core i3-4160. My CPU usage doesn't jump above
50% usage with Win 10, when using Win 8.1 Pro my CPU hovered between 60-70% when playing large bitrate 1080p content.

Scaling algorithms:
Chroma upscaling: NNDED13 256 neurons (activate Superes filter)
Image downscaling: Spline 3 taps
Image doubling: Everything unchecked
Image upscaling: Jinc
Upscaling refinement: Everything unchecked

Rendering:
General settings: Everything unchecked
windowed mode settings: Everything left at default
Smoothmotion: Unchecked
Dithering: Ordered Dithering
Trade quality for performance: Everything Unchecked

GPU Acceleration (Open CL) is ticked in SVP. Huge performance increase.

MPC-HC:
Internal Fitlers:LAV decoder: Cuvid (I actually don't know if this is being used as I have DXVA Native selected in external LAV Video Decoder)
External: ffdshow raw video filter,  LAV Video Decoder

Well all i did was change my internal video decoders to FFmpeg instead of NVIDIA Cuda Decoder. Thats was the problem for me why my player crashed. Im also using the newest nvidia drivers 353.62.

Can also anyone give me an example to begin with to configuring madvr. I've tried some settings but i don't really see much of a difference tbh big_smile Atleast  not in low res bad quality videos

Im using a i5 2500k at 4.5k with 8gb of ram on a GTX 970.

Atm these are my settings:
Chroma upscaling: NNEDI3 128
Image doubling: always use 128 luma & chroma double
Image upscaling: Lanczos 3 taps ARF
Image downscaling: Catmull-Rom ARF

Smooth motion: only if there would be jitter without
Dithering: option 2

I also have a Nvidia 970 and I choose to use DXVA over CUVID in LAV....Seems to playback nicer with no jitters or lag and enabling GPU Open CL in SVP throws all the work to the GPU.

1080p settings for 72fps, I don't like the quality though (80-90% CPU, 30% GPU)

Hi everyone, just curious to find out who is using SVP with MPC-HC 32bit and who is using other players eg. Potplayer... And if anyone has swapped one for the other for whatever reason.  I've just recently installed Windows 10 Pro and have set up everything pretty well and SVP with MPC-HC 32bit seems to be performing much better than when I had Windows 8.1 Pro installed. Does anyone else notice better performance with Win 10?

Oops..sorry guys...my stupid mistake.  Should have read the posts thoroughly...I'm new here  neutral

I agree BSmooth, SVP does perform and look better!

I think SVP looks great. To my eyes SVP looks better than the 120hz-240hz displays in stores(The people seem to float and bob up and down to much on those displays).
I have a few questions.

1. How you can watch a video that is already at 60hz(720p60hz)and get the smooth effect?
Also same question for live broadcast 1080i content that needs to be deinterlace first?

2. What is the best pc capture card for the use with MPC and SVP use?
Since I don't won't to use the capture card for recordings, just to view live tv.
Will HDCP be a problem when trying to view live broadcast tv from the cable STB>capture card(in pc)>MPC>SVP?

CUVID is disabled in the lastest windows 10 Nvidia drivers....they are planning on using NVENC as the next API for encoding/decoding...

No problems for me running latest Nvidia drivers 353.62, Windows 10 pro on a gtx 970. GPU Open Cl enabled on SVP, no DXVA on ANY settings in Madvr, and amazed to find that the GPU is still taking the full brunt of the software processing (JINC, NNDEI) (if that makes any sense?). My i3-4160 CPU hovers at around 50-60% playing large bitrate 1080p files, even with all the maximum settings.
I think Windows 10 is actually doing some good work in the background!
