You still writing that guide, Alex?

You find this funny? I'm starting to get pissed off.
Either you're doing it like advertised and working on it or you don't. What is it?
I was on of the indigogo backers and I'll stop recommending SVP for now, I just can't support this behaviour.

I still have not heard a single valid argument that would make sense to not implement it from the developers. Somehow it feels like they are trying to not tell something. But maybe that's just me.

There are already 4 in this thread. And there have been quite a few threads about the exact same topic already.

I am tech-savvy and all the other methods I've tried have been horrible. Either something crashed or did not work as intended.

And with so much 4k content available on youtube now and the shift to mobile devices it get's more and more important to have something reliable and easy to use for pre-rendering in my opinion.

Is there really so much other stuff on your to-do list or is there some other reason to not implement it? Right now my SVP is running very well and except pre-rendering I don't have any other needs or complaints. smile

I'd like that, too. I know there are other ways, but I just want a one click method. Select a video file and a SVP profile and just get it converted.

VB_SVP can you (and everyone with the same problem as me) try the MPC-HC Nightly build? You can get it here https://nightly.mpc-hc.org/

MPV may be a great player, but it is unnecessarily complicated und feels like a masochists tool to me. I want my player to work nice out of the box or with minimal adjustments in a settings panel. So please don't turn this in a discussion about MPV. It's not relevant to me.

Since you have that problem with Nvidia as well and I also found that MPC-HC ticket (https://trac.mpc-hc.org/ticket/5787) I'm now more and more thinking that MPC-HC could be the problem. It sucks because MPC-HC is just the best player I know. I can't stand MPV. I'm testing the MPC-HC Nightly now and maybe I should test MPC-BE.

Ok so just had a freeze without GPU acceleration. This sucks twice because I have absolutely no idea why it happens and now I have to test without SVP which is pure torture.

I completely reinstalled Windows in between so I think I can skip reinstalling graphic drivers.

Thanks Capt. Obvious.
As I said it is not happening everytime and watching video for a few hours without SVP is a pain in the ass. So I'd rather test it without GPU acceleration right now for this reason and because I'm guessing this to be the culprit.

It freezes and stays frozen. Can't do anything so I have to reset the PC.
There must be something happening when video-playback stops that sometimes leads to this. My first guess is that it has something to do with GPU acceleration.

Sometimes when I close a video or open a new video while another one is still running, my whole computer just freezes completely. It's not happening every time, but still often enough to be very annoying. I'm fairly certain that this has something to do with SVP because it only happens with video.
I have undone any overclocking and undervolting to rule out those factors. I am now testing without GPU acceleration to see if it still happens. Any idea what the issue could be? Could there be a problem when SVP stops processing data?

My computer:
i7-5820k
AMD 290X
32GB RAM
Windows 10 x64 and SVP Pro 4.0.0.76

If you need any more information I'll provide it.

You mean that after forcing "Animation" on as Chainik proposed you did not experience crashes anymore?

No, I never used 'Animation'.
Those are the settings I use right now:

Interestingly I haven't had a single crash with 4.0.0.74 so far. Although I'm not sure if that's due to the version or I finally found a combination of settings/components that work for me.
I have sent you a bug report through SVP, maybe that helps.

With the new version 4.0.0.74 it got even worse and now even 1080p video crashes instantly even without GPU acceleration.

Are they out-of-memory issues?
I have 32GB of RAM.

And I didn't have immediate crashes with my 2500k CPU, 16GB RAM and the same settings.

What CPU do you have?

I have upgraded to an Intel i7-5820k CPU and when a open a 4k video with 4.0.0.73 and GPU acceleration enabled, it immediately crashes after 1 second. But only with 15-23 threads. On 11 and 13 threads it doesn't crash immediately. I've set it so high because I've read that you should multiply your logical cores by 1.8 which would be 21.6 in my case.
If I disable GPU acceleration it doesn't happen, even with 21 or 23 threads.
This also happens with the modified base.avs that Chainik posted a few days ago.

This is the crash dump:

kernelbase!RaiseException+0x58
WARNING: Following frames may be wrong.
svpflow2!AvisynthPluginInit3+0x8960

svpflow2!svpGetVersion+0x182b9

On Version 4.0.0.60 it only crashes immediately with GPU acceleration on and threads at 23 with this dump:

kernelbase!RaiseException+0x48
msvcrt!_CxxThrowException+0x59
WARNING: Following frames may be wrong.

I had a feeling this thread would get too cluttered with mashingan posting another problem in here^^
Maybe his problem should be moved to another thread?

I still didn't have a single crash with 4.0.0.60 so it seems that this is really the last version without that issue.

Also regarding GPU Acceleration: GPU Acceleration alone doesn't seem to be the issue. When I had the newer version installed I tried disabling GPU Acceleration to see if it fixes the crashes, but I still had crashes.

I've mostly watched 720p content the last 2 days and crashes don't happen on 720p as often as on 1080p, so I don't feel comfortable saying already that it works. But so far I haven't had a single crash.
I'll certainly keep you updated.

Well that sounds like a lot of work, but I'm confident you'll find the culprit smile

Anything I can do to help find it?
