Hello,

Thank you for responding

So, about the 3 problems :

1 : How can I get those logs ?

2 : The tearing test line moves perfectly smoothly, even when the judder happens ! It's very slight, for example when a character is moving from side to side on screen, I can sometimes notice that at a point, a frame was dropped or something and it looks like the character teleported a centimeter... I don't know if I explain it right.

3 : GPU cooling isn't the problem, I have a watercooling solution, and my fans don't even blow so much while playing a movie. I have been tweaking madvr and SVP to the lowest acceptable parameters so that I get a pretty good video quality without having to suffer fan noise.

So regarding fact #3, I don't think that video playback uses my GPU more intensively that games at all, I have done all that was possible so that it doesn't use it intensively at all to keep my GPU cool.

Also, my GPU never throttles because of heat because it simply cannot, the cooling is too good, and I have the fans on a custom curve.

Anyways, my GPU never throttles because of anything because I have modded my bios to remove any of those power and voltage limitations, so I have no idea why it would do this. I play games in ultra settings at 2160p and the fans blow like crazy, my frequs are stable and everything seems fine under a huge load.

In this case, the frequencies always go down to the same values : 1240 GPU and 3600 memory, as if it was a security of some sorts, which is why I mentioned it, because I think those symptoms are related.

So the "problem" I need to solve is the occasional, very slight stuttering which is very distracting. anything else is just information in order to understand the problem.

Any ideas ?

Hello

my specs : fx8320, GTX 970, mpchc, dxva copy back, GPU acceleration on, madvr

the problem ;

I try to play videos and it frequently looks like a frame was dropped, resulting in very punctual judder say once every two secs.

sometimes mpc OR SVP will crash, never both at the same time

I checked my GPU state and everytime I play a video, it throttles to state 2 (limited GPU/memory frequency) as shown on attachment : in green the normal frequency while playing games, in red the frequencies when using MPC HC

Everything else works fine

Anyone know what is happening ?

What you ask is useless for a simple reason :

No display that actually supports HDR & 10/12 bit doesn't already do an equal or a better job at interpolation than SVP.

I actually have a Samsung KS9000 TV connected to my PC as my main monitor, I use it for everything including playing films and series, and, well, I can't see any difference in quality from SVP or the internal interpolation feature of the TV, which can now be tweaked to eliminate the soap opera effect while keeping it smooth.

I have subscribed to netflix and since netflix doesn't support 10bit, HDR or 4k on PC, I have to watch via the TV itself and it does a pretty good job...

I still use SVP when watching content on mpc HC, but really it's only because it makes it simpler not having to switch between film/PC/game mode on the TV... (it doesn't interpolate in game mode which is what i use)

Soooo no need for SVP with such a TV, netflix and others are probably not going to support 4k on pcs before long and frankly it's a pain in the ass, SVP I used for a while when i was using a PC monitor as my main screen for movies, but it didn't support HDR so.

Basically, if you want HDR you want a 2000$ TV and those don't need SVP, there you go.

Also I don't know if you got my andwer from the report, I'd like keeping madvr as a renderer, since it used to work fine and I like it very much. About the black bars, should I keep detection enabled in madvr and disabled in SVP or the opposite ?

When I go into event logs there is only a log for today. I think windows has cleant them, can you keep this post opened until the issue happens again and I can send you the log ?

Hello everyone,

I have encountered two problems which seem related to one another lately.

I'm going to detail my specs in the attached screenshots. I have GPU Acceleration enabled in the SVP settings and I'm using DXVA2 (Copy-Back) in LAV video renderer.

Here are the issues :

Sometimes when a video has been playing great for a certain amount of time, SVP seems to restart of it's own, so the image freezes for less than a second and then it reverts to normal with SVP reactivation and showing on screen information (like when I use the seekbar).

Sometimes, when the video has also been playing for a certain amount of time which is variable also, the picture simply freezes without the sound being altered at all (it simply continues as if nothing had happened). Subtitles stop being displayed, too. It can last a few seconds before pictures slowly start to reappear, resulting in jerky off sync film with 1/2 fps and then it gradually speeds up again until everything is normal again. This may not happen at all, forcing me to kill the process unsing task manager.

Thank you by advance for helping me out.

Thank you I already had that set up smile

Oh yeah thank you, DXVA2 copy back did it ! GPU acceleration is enabled, no more freezing, performance is way better and since I was about to report something else that was solved too, I'm going to write it here in case someone finds this thread useful : I had some green and pink square-shaped artifacts that appeared whenever I enabled image doubling with NNEDI3 method, those are gone too.

I am using an AMD FX-8320 CPU which is overclocked @ 4500Mhz.

Thank you again for your very fast help !

Hello everyone.

I've been using SVP 3 on windows 7, windows 8.1, and windows 10, and I was unable on every OS to enable GPU acceleration since it made MPC HC crash everytime, but it didn't matter since my CPU could do fine on FULLHD monitor.

Then, I recently bought a UHD monitor and ever since, I had to lower my settings in order to play fullscreen video because the video was stuttering, I suppose it loaded the CPU too much.

And I am facing another problem, even with the lowered settings, my CPU is able to render, but the load is still very important and it causes my CPU fans to go batshit (and I'm using watercooling...) and make that loud noise, which isn't the best for movies...

So, I'd like to be able to enable GPU acceleration. I'm using a GTX 770 w/ 2GB DDR5, and I am planning to buy a GTX 970 4GB. All drivers are up to date and SVP is too.

Can anyone tell me what to do ?

Thank you !
