Thanks for this. Not often I pop in here so wasn't aware of this most useful utility!
I have watched some videos on a Samsung Android tablet that I had converted using SVP settings on my PC and they played with no problems and looked great, so Android certainly can handle the higher framerate that SVP gives us.
Just had a chance to put the guide to the test... I'm really impressed with the results.
Found the guide easy to follow and ended up with a video looking how it should do... brilliant stuff! So, anyone maybe a little hesitant to give this a try, relax- it works!
Thanks for this guide Alex, and taking the time and patience in making this work and sharing the methods with us. It is much appreciated. Be a couple of days before I can try it all out (the instructions look easy enough to follow) but this will be a huge boon for me and enable others to see my videos in the style that I want.
I don't doubt you'll have encountered this page whilst searching around...
http://www.spirton.com/convert-videos-to-60fps/
It was last updated a year and a half ago and I haven't done any such conversions for 2 years now (nor have any idea if it'll work on Windows 10 as I was using Windows 7) but this page was where I'd go to get the methods on processing my videos and despite it being a bit of a long winded chore the first few times - you should pay extreme attention to the instructions as it is pretty easy to overlook some odd detail that screws it up - I got good results from it. I had a load of old 15fps stuff shot on an old digital camera. It never looked good and was rather jerky but this method worked wonders and with all the new frames added, the motion was supersmooth.
So, it might test your patience and be careful about AviSynth since he uses a different one to that used in SVP from what I remember, but it might be worth your while and you should get the results you're after via this method.
I tried SVP4 last year on my laptop running Windows 7 and never had any issues - worked fine though I reverted back to 3 because the processor in the laptop and graphics were straining! I got this new PC in January, upgraded to Windows 10 just before the deadline so hadn't tried SVP4 on this setup. I was using SVP 3 with zero problems so figured upgrading to SVP4 was the logical move since this PC is powerful enough.
Hope this experience helps iron out potential problems and issues for future users and thanks again for the help.
Just in case - remove all *.cfg files from %appdata%\SVP4\settings
OK, I can get the same error, but I have to set an impossible value in the configuration to achieve this.
I deleted the .cfg files from that folder and that did the trick - SVP4 is now working!
Many many thanks for this.
OK. Here's the event log details using the .exe posted above.

Thanks for the reply. OK. Just tried running again and here is the log file...
Hello. New member here and after much headscratching and consulting the forums here, this thread is closest to the problem I am having. I'll be as detailed as I can at this stage.
I have SVP 3.1.7a and it works perfectly. Never had any problems with it. I purchased SVP 4 earlier today and cannot get it to work at all. I had the same issue as that described in post one - the SVP Manager icon would pop up briefly in the task bar... and in task manager then disappears and nothing runs. (SVP 3.1.7a still works fine)
I am using Windows 10 64 bit professional - it's up to date except I opted not to install the infamous anniversary update. My PC has Intel integrated i5 4460 graphics and I just updated the display drivers and since then, the icon doesn't appear in the taskbar at all but does still pop up briefly in task manager. I have tried running it normally and as admin. I tried a different compatability mode (Windows 8) which prompted me for my licence key again which was rejected. I can't even find a log file to paste into here. I have uninstalled and reinstalled SVP 4 3 times. I have looked at various posts here but none seem to relate to my problem except for the one described in the first post - SVP Manager simply won't run. Unfortunately, it appeared the issue was resolved but we have absolutely no idea how or why!
Any help would be enormously appreciated. Any questions or further details please ask and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I really like SVP - been using it for years and it's rather unfortunate I decide to buy it and can't get it to work at all!
Thanks in advance.
