Hello,

I meet a problem playing DVD with :

Player : MPC-HC (64 and 32 does same result I will describe)
Raw video decoder : ffdshow (64 and 32 same problem too)
Settings on ffdshow : resize & aspect filter checked (the problem occurs even if I dont go to setting under resize, even if set no method)
Internal decoder : LAV video decoder

I use SVP pro, but it is not SVP the problem it avisynth filter from ffdshow, when it is set, particularly when "buffer ahead" is set -> problem (I tried unsetting buffer, it works but SVP in this case delivers bad performance).

The problem is : the player first renders the current frame unsized, and the next resized, it does it mecanically all over the run, finishing with memory leak and also sometimes with crash. By the way it is unwatchable xD (sounds is making problem too right after).

Maybe linked to the fact frames are interlaced, but even if I check LAV video decoder filters, it does not change anything...

Note, it happens ONLY on DVD playback ! Not on regular videos (mkv, avi etc... progressive mode)

I need your help, to know if there is a way to fix it, I want to be able to do a real-time lanczos resize with ffdshow while using SVP (then avisynth auto checked by it -> = problem).

I am on a deadend ^^.

big_smile thanks and regards.

______
Thanks to SVP devs, for their great software !

Hi,

378.66, is it ok?

Hello,

I am using MPC-HC (64bit 1.7.10) + FFDSHOW 64b for now, but I want to know if it is better to use 32 bit of them instead or not with SVP? More stable, more bugs? What are benefits to use 64 for SVP?

Also, I have a question with LAV Video Decoder, on "Hardware Acceleration" -> "Hardware Decoder to use" ->

I have :

- NVIDIA CUVID (for now I am using it and seems better but not sure)
- Intel QuickSync
- DXVA2 (copy-back)
- DXVA2 (native)

What choice is recommended with SVP? While Nvidia CUVID looks good... Am I doing wrong using Nv CUVID?

Thanks.

Ok thanks.

Then what about a 24p TV connected on hdmi?

Hmm what if I change my monitor to a 120hz? Will it be better (as 120 is multiple of 24)? (or 144hz -> 6*24)

For now I have 60hz stucked one.

Hi Anim8 and thanks for reply,

Ok, but when checking masking artifacts to the best value, it shows no really ghosh or unwanted visual effect.

But my renderer suffers a bit, very short-jerking sad sad. So I was thinking that maybe if I had a better CPU, I could be able to get full smooth + this masking-artifact option to max, and have a very clean animation and smooth?

What config to have to set masking to max without loosing smooth?

What I want to reach, is being able to get full smooth + no artifacts.

For now, If I set interpolation to adaptative or max smooth -> artifacts often on moving objects, arround edges (a kind of ghosting).

Even if masking is set to high.

Not really beautiful sad

Indeed when I set it to very strongest, it eliminates artifacts but it runs not smooth at all sad

For exemple, traveling gets jerky.

Hello Dev,

Thanks for reply.

Ryzen and change all my config xD lol

Do you think that a Core i7-6700K 4.0 GHz can handle (smoothest anytime) FULL max settings for 1080p.

Indeed, I am playing 1080p videos (not more).

Hello,

I am new on the forum, but not on SVP using (for years I use it). I even bought SVP4 Pro yesterday ^^.

I have a question like on the title. I was wondering :

Is it worth to buy a intel i7 CPU to get better quality/perf ratio?

I mean I have for now, a i5 (3700Mhz). I want to get the best smoothness and the less artefact effects (ghost, halo around moving objects) than possible. My GFX card is NVIDIA GTX970 for info.

Do i7s really > i5s on SVP4 ???

Does it give real benefits?

Thanks in advance.
