Topic: JRiver chashed with SVP and 4K

first of all I want to thank you for the great software!! It works very smooth with 1080P source files but crashes with JRiver while trying to watch 2160p23 file at 60Hz display.
it is not a matter of CPU usage, it is no more than 30%.
Also, looks like not a matter of player, same story with  KMP.
While using WMP I tried changing settings of SVP and encountered that if video  is 23/24fps originally and i am setting "Double frame rate" instead of "use screen refrash rate" together with Frames interpolation mode set to "2m" then it works!
all other frame interpolations modes does not work.
also it stops working if source video is 30fps and it doubles to 60fps or i am setting target frame rate to screen frame rate which is 60fps.
please advice!

it'a a question of memory usage

1. ensure you patched player's executable with "4GB patch"
2. set "motion vectors precision" to "two pixels"
3. lower "processing threads" value until it won't crash

Try latest modification of SVP-Manager.
If crashes still occurs then tell us error's details. And show screensot of SVP performance window when error appers.

ok now it does not crash that immidiatly but plays video only like 2 seconds long and  then frame freezes. Usage of CPU cores drops to zero.  I can start playing it again by rewinding or forwarding but it lasts 2 seconds and then stops again. if waiting like 30 seconds and doing nothing then it crashes. how can i post screenshot and logfile here? i can send to some email instead. thanks

i tried on two different PCs with same result, one is 4770K with 16GB of ram, gtx780ti.
another is 3960X with 16GB of ram and dual gtx780ti sli.
monitor is asus pq321 via DP MST.

So. I can play 4K video at my Core i5-3570K + GTX 660 Ti. I use MPC-HC instead of JRiver.

Setup order:
1. Check 4K option in LAV Decoder to enable hardware acceleration.
2. Open 4K video with SVP. When SVP icon becomes green then pause.
3. Add new profile: SVP tray menu - Video profiles - Add - 3840 x 2160 x 25 - Save.
4. Open active profile window: double click on SVP tray icon.
5. Change parameters to these and click OK:

i can play it also up to 48Hz, problem starts at 60Hz only! did you test it at 60Hz?

it can be renderer issue then
try it with MPC-HC and switch between different renderers

Oh yes. I tested it at my 60 fps display with EVR renderer.

Last processed file parameters:
Filename: NoiseRed-25fps-120mbs.mkv
Frame size and frame rate: 3840x2160 pixels, 25 fps
After resize: 1920x1080 pixels

Detected screen parameters
Screen size and refresh rate: 1920x1200 pixels, 60.147 Hz

Video smoothing info
Smooth factor: 409:170
Resulting video frame rate: 60.147 fps

Oh Sorry! hmm
Chainik is right. I forgot one thing: my monitor size and framesize reducing.
I will change it and find new right settings.

If I choose renderer None then playing is good at 1x speed and 50% CPU usage at minimal SVP settings.
I need some time to understand why all my renders eat 50+% of my CPU power. And how to fix it.

ok just did all above with MPC-HC, same effect.. sound is coming but video freezes at one frame and then crashes in a minute or so... could you teamview my PC please?

Before teamview I need to know how to get 4K playing at my system.

btw if original video resolution is true 4K ( 4096x2160)  It says "Specified Frame Width is out of bounds", so it is not possible to save profile. Fix that also please smile

I found the trouble. I use monitor via weak internal videocard Intel Graphics HD4000. It gave huge CPU load.
When I switched monitor to my GTX 660 Ti and did it primary monitor then I get success with 4K video playing. I use Olerlay and madVR. Both are fine. CPU usage 60-70%.
Try it.

just changed MadvVR to Overlay Mixer Renderer and it starts working but with missing frames, SVP index is 0.29x

Only thing that works is if I lower the frame size
