Topic: Whirligig - no active playback

Originally Whirligig and SVP were fine, no problems. Then I had a problem with Whirligig not playing AVI and I could only fix it by reinstalling K-lite, but that resulted in SVP not working in Whirligig, although there were no issues in MPC.

No instances of Whirligig in event log. Reinstalled SVP, no difference.

The only way to get SVP working in Whirligig again is through system restore... but that'll take me back to the AVI nonsense.

the best thing you can do is uninstall K-lite

but in case of that article on Wiki - make sure you checked ffdshow for 64-bit decoders (the picture is wrong cause it highlights 32-bit decoders)

Uninstalled K-lite - AVI working. SVP not working.

installed Codec tweak tool, LAV filters and 32bit ffdshow  - AVI working, SVP not working.

Installed 64bit ffdshow - AVI not working, SVP working.

I think it's an issue with 64bit ffdshow and DirectShow (video path in Whirligig). The two other paths,
Video LAN and Media Foundation, aren't compatible with SVP yet they play AVI just fine.

AVI/SVP playback is alright with MPC, and it was working with Whirligig until recently. I've been fiddling about with DirectShow filters, but I'm stumped.
