Rife v4.15 is out. It is a clear improvement over previous models for reducing double images in fast movement. I need to do some testing but I think it uses a little more GPU than previous models because even with v2 my GPU never drops below 100%. Packet drops sometimes happen when starting or when FF/REW but settles down quickly with no further drops during playback. No obvious regressions from previous tests.
My RTX 3090 was sent for RMA a few weeks ago. Praying a 4090 comes in its place, but either way I will have to wait to test out 4.15

Don't know why, but with 4.15 I've got much lesser Power consumption. (4090)
With 4.13 it was at 350-380w. Now it's at 290-330w. (total, out of the outlet)
Including MadVR, Anime4k and Rife with 1080p x2,5.
I can also confrim rife v9.15 v2 is awesome. Testing on Avatar (1) flight scenes and its much improved.

Uhhh my virus software is saying this straight up has a trojan in it...
So I was now sucessfull for MPV. It looks awesome. On MPC with MadVR I cannot get it to work without dropped frames. But....just sticking with MPV then. Tonemapping is acceptable there, too. Incredible overall picture quality now :-)

Windows 11/Chrome/NordVPN. I go to download the 4.15.7 7zip file and it does not allow me to. Interestingly, I just tried again and it allowed me to download it this time. No idea.

The default AV is Windows Defender which is not terrible, but also not great. But I think in your case you are using Edge browser which probably means it was being blocked by Microsoft SmartScreen which is cloud based.

v2 is easier on GPU. Don't bother with Ensemble.

Checked 4.15 V2 for contour and interference pattern artifacts and I can confirm it improves things over 4.14.
Is it normal for any of the RIFE filters above 4.9 to have worse performance than 4.9? I can run 4.9 at Movie x2, but any of the newer ones cannot run that setting for me - even the v2 ones.

Yep. But 4.15 quality is so good even during hardsub. And its fast enough for 1080px2 @ 2060s and 2k x2 for 3070ti
It looks like x3 4k with RIFE is impossible if your RAM is DRAM4
x2 cost 25~28GB/s, my max memory BW is 31GB/s
based on the picture you might need RAM5 6000+ to run RIFE 4k x3

I cant seem to run 4k x3 on my rig 6600mhz (64gb) 13900KS @ 5.7Ghz (all core). Thats 10bit HDR though? (4090).
Ah, ok. I'm running 4K HDR Movie x2 on my 4090. I'll stick to RIFE 4.9 then.
Why? The 4090 can do x2 with 4.15 but it's near perfect now in terms of artifacts. I'm so happy with it. Don't get me wrong x3 would be better but that's one for the future.

I have a 7800x3d with 32GB DDR5 6600mhz RAM in a X670-I Strix motherboard and a 4090. If I choose any setting above RIFE 4.9 and/or above Movie 2x (even 50fps) it becomes an unwatchable, stuttery mess. I was told in a different thread this was due to bandwidth limitations. It is possible I have something configured incorrectly. Is it as simple as placing the extracted RIFE models in the correct folder, then selecting them in SVP RIFE settings? One thing that has been bugging me is when the command prompt pops up setting the timing, I see it says something about f32 timing being unable to continue and selects f16. The command prompt also says resolution of 3840x2400 when I'm running at 3800x2160, which may help explain my poor performance. I looked for a way to change that setting but I haven't found it anywhere.

I'm using MPC-HC with Vapousynth as that is what was recommended on the SVP instructions and by Chanik to me here in the forum for DV at 4k HDR.
Consider exploring MPV as an alternative.
In my experiments, I found that while MPC-HC struggles, MPV seamlessly drops frames and continues.
Additionally, aloola's analysis suggests that newer models demand more from your system, yet they offer substantial enhancements in interpolation. MPV supports the addition of shaders which can significantly improve image quality and sharpness. A clever workaround involves resizing a 4K image to 1080p for swift interpolation with RIFE on newer models, and then applying shaders to emulate the appearance of the original 4K quality.
Although the result won't exactly match the original source, it ensures a smooth viewing experience. Moreover, your RTX 4090 will handle it effortlessly, as upscaling is far less resource-intensive than interpolating a 4K HDR10 image.

My RAM is 6600mhz at CL30 so could potentially be ram? Also I'm using MPV not MPClassic?
