Topic: MPC keeps crashing while preparing smooth playback

Hey guys, I just installed SVP and looked for codecs that are installed and uninstalled them before that. Now when opening a video with MPC it crashes and creates a mini-dump. The same thing happens when I try it with Windows Media Player. I dont have any idea what kind of information you need and I hope this post is not utterly stupid. Any kind of advice?

1. Try another video file. Maybe it is the video file issue.
2. Tell us error's details: error module name, error number and error text.

I tried it with several .mp4 files and .mkv files. Im not sure about the error module name and number, it just gives me a short message that MPC created a mini-dump and asks me if I want to send it to them. There is no error number or something like that. After closing the window I get the "... is not working anymore" message.

look at "Event Viewer" -> "Windows logs" -> Application

Looks like it is MPC-HC error. Is it play these videos without SVP running?

About error:

MPC error 1000.
In this case hepls directx installing.
And here writen it is user crash log event. Not curtain error number.

So. For details we need this crash log.
How to get last MPC-HC mini dump

But I don't know how to read dmp-file. If you have bugreport.txt file then attach it instead dmp-file.

There are no problems without SVP running. And tried to install the 2010 DirectX, but it didnt work.
I dont know if I have a bugreport.txt or how to create one. I have the dmp-file but I dont know how to attach it here.

Good news!

I solved the problem. I found another thread with the same problem and there sb gave the advice to install an earlier version of SVP. I uninstalled mine and installed the 3.0.6 and now it works as it should. This project is really awesome!

It's not really a "good news".
It'd be better if you could find what is the cause of crash with 3.1.6:
- MPC-HC version
- ffdshow version
- some particular option in SVP itself
- something else

Well yeah the good news was more referring to the bypassing of my problem. And Im currently quite happy that it works.
