Topic: 3D with SVP displays double image :(

Hello All,

I've just joined and new here and recently configured my PC with SVP. I am quite impressed with the interpolation and am now using it with my projector I was nearly going to upgrade! But since discovering the SVP, I may withhold for a little while longer!

My 2d Vides are fine, but my problem is with 3D.

I have been a user of 3D Vision for quite some time now with no problems games/videos.

But for some reason, I cannot get SVP to work for my SBS or OU films.

I currently have been using 3d Vision no problem. BUT, as soon as I turn on SVP, the 3D gives me 2 images. 3D video works FINE WITHOUT SVP, but as soon as I turn it on.. the problem occurs (with SBS or OU).

I have searched the forums and google with no success. Only one other person I see had a similar problem, (although using stereoscopic player). I have disabled cropping with svp, but its not helping.

Could anyone help me?

usually... if I play a 3d video... I will make sure my 3d vision kit is 'enabled'.. then I play the video in 3d vision stereoscopic player.  The player will 'merge' (forgive my technical know how) the images together,, to make a blurry image. So when I put my glasses on. I see clear (3d image). If I don't enable the 3d vision kit... the player will simply show 2 images (side by side.. or over under).

My 3d is fine if I don't enable SVP manager. The 3d will work fine. But when I enable the SVP manager,, it shows the film.. as if 3d is not on... but I know its on (my emitter is on when it works). I will try to upload pics.

Turn off frame crop, auto crop and black borders lighting

hello. Thanks,, but I already turned them all off.

I will uninstall all codecs and re install again.

maybe it has something to do with me installing lav aftter installing svp package. I read in the instructions just install with the default settings.. I notice LAV wasn't included so I had to install it after - (so I could add it in stereoscopic viewer) - I don't think its this.. but I may as well try..

hmmm interesting.. I was just about to uninstall everything... but.. before I did I tested it on my monitor (120hz 1080p 3d vision) and it worked fine.

I will re test on my projector now (720p dlp 3d vision projector) again and report back

ok I see the problem.. but not sure how to fix it.

I am trying to play 1080p material on a 720p projector,, which gives a weird double image.

Anyway to tell SVP manager to assume its 720p video?

ok sorted! smile

sorry for my lack of knowledge.. I had to disable 'decrease frame size'. IT now works smile

but I guess I will have to change this all the time when using 3D. Would be nice if all this was automatic tongue

it'd be even nicer if Stereoscopic could handle frame size changes correctly as every other player in the world does

however their message board looks dead
someone could try to post a request to office[at]3dtv.at  big_smile

Hello again.

Hope you are well. Im not sure if you can answer this but I'll give it a shot.

I use 3d vision stereoscopic player.. and some other free one. I also user Powerdvd 12 for 3D. (it gives a sharper image)

I know I cant use svp with Powerdvd 12 which sucks.. because this is the best image.

Is there a way to increase sharpness in 3d vision stereoscopic player? or is there another player i should use? Is it because powerdvd doesnt use ffdshow and 3d vision player does? can i tweak it somehow? :S

Also.. if i try to sharpen in ffdshow.. will it effect badly in podplayer? (would i always need to change the values)

any advice or comments would be appreciated. Because i don't actually know what the hell im doing tongue

ok thanks,, sorry, im on a big learning curve messing about with all this. Thanks for answering my rookie questions..

Its because.. the 3d vision player/stereoscopic player just looks slightly more blurry than Powerdvd.. Pot player is fine!

I wish 3d visions stereo player would have an option to make it sharper. Would save me re adjusting all the time... sad
