I don't have this... I cannot change the option (its stuck on 'default preset') - I have installed everything prior to this (although instructions maybe slightly different.) -Maybe I should select 'dxva' when installing ffdshow? your instructions tell me not to. HELP!

when I installed everything the first time.. it work.. and I saw it was playing at 120fps...
I then uninstalled everything.. because I thought I was missing something. (cuda setup)...
now I reinstalled everything (3rd time).. and I run svp... and open a video in potplayer.. but nothing happens now 
any idea? (sorry for being annoying.. im sure I have followed all steps) :s
what am I missing? (I did however reinstall ffdshow (with the option dxla or whatever it is) but then uninstalled and reinstalled again as instructed.

I do all I can. My guide is simple and at the same time have more stuffs to play with if you want more. Now you say that I was about to say better keep using previous official release + it last update compatible with it, because I don't know what happened :S what they did with PotPlayer? even me I don't like how it looks and how limited its I mean its more complicate for new users because you need to set up everything now, like if it were in advanced mode. Before was user friendly for everybody, new or advanced, easy steps, now no more skins you need to download them and install manualy,no more Presets :S and more. Im just waiting if they insist keeping PotPlayer as the last update then I need to change again things in my guide . so again better use previous PotPlayer + it last update compatible with it.
Btw I will try to download previous updates until the version is compatible with my guide and let you all know.
Hi all, by this date the PotPlayer 1.6.47450 (May 08, 2014) is Not compatible with my guide, I mean the way it looks and the settings / options it comes, need me to change my guide again but I wont do that yet, I will wait and see if they keep releasing more about that version then well I wont have more options that change my guide referring to it. For now only download from here http://www.videohelp.com/tools/PotPlaye … s#download this version / update: PotPlayer1.5.45955 and PotPlayer1.6.47445Upd. Install these in that orden. Do not install PotPlayer 1.6.47450 (May 08, 2014).

ps. I got it working in the end. Just messing about with settings etc.
I will only use it for documentaries and other shows.. for films.. i will continue to watch at 24fps. For me its more 'sureal' which is important for me in a film.

I have the latest version of potplayer. Latest version of nvidia driver. (to date). Removed all codecs before using the guide. installed as per guide.
I just cannot change this option. (I have a nvidia gtx 670 otherwise working fine)
cause those options are just settings profiles names, nothing more
for some reason all profiles was removed from PotPlayers installation

But i got svp working with pot player. Would it be better if i install the older version? or useless? I just want to try get the best image now. (framerate is smooth as butter now)
I want to somehow try and get the picture to be nearly as good as powerdvd. Will madvr improver image quality?
Reason i may install madvr = some of my 720p material/films are a bit blocky or somthing. Im hoping madvr will improve the quality (i use a projector. Its fine for a small screen but not projector. 1080 is good). Or maybe i try the older pot player first before messing with madvr. (but i think i have the sufficient hardware i7 2600k " 4.5ghz and gtx 670)
Hi, not necessary, these versions are related to all steps of my guide. New versions of PotPlayer for now is different as you can see, it does same function but its not the same as showed on the images. I don't see great differences between PotPlayers 1.5.45955 / 1.6.47445Upd and last version in quality,etc. in fact the update 1.6.47445Upd have same filters and more as last version.
Show why you think powerdvd gives more picture quality than potplayer? show screenshot of potplayer vs powerdvd.
Madvr can improve some quality but its costly for GPU(s) if you are trying to use the best settings, besides I use it sometimes only for Dvds and SD material ( less than 720p ). Madvr improve more quality for Dvds and SD material with low quality. For 1080p and 720p for me its not necessary all the time.
About " blocky " material use ffdshows Deband and toy with it settings until you find your best or the ones you like more. Lower some the Radius and increase a little Threshold is the best for me, I used it long time ago with very low bitrate material but I don't use it anymore, no need, I only try to find now best quality material.

You are right, the new PotPlayer has changed! No offence to their Devs but what are they doing?
I've been using PortablePotPlayerGenerator_v110 to make the installer portable, but anything after v1.5.45955 and the Generator refuses to work with it...
Whatever they changed obviously wasn't minor and it seems like this is the new direction they are going in. Hope it won't degrade with time.
I see your guide has shrinked by 2/3, it's very easy to follow now great job! However some SVP settings/guide would be a treat if you get time with it. The standard SVP settings are a bit hyper like everyone's on drugs or something unnatural motions and twitching!!
BTW Maken, I don't thing we need Avisynth v2.5.8 in Pt.2 installation as Avisynth SVP Edition is included in SVP Core if I'm not mistaken?

Hi all, at the end was testing current Daum PotPlayer, is not that bad but it needs more user manual settings to make it work properly or for your need, DXVA for example is not enable by default as previous versions did, it use more cpu, no live version, no skins just one, DXVA2 Copy-back no always work or not work and more.
No MadVr, LAV but yes ReClock will be add in my guide as optional. My settings will have high quality video and audio, balanced performance. If you still want the use of MadVr and LAV you can use the SVP Full version. MadVr is great but demanding, not recommended for slow/old cpus/old gpus. MPC HC great player but still I like more PotPlayer, I made my way to make it run good , balanced performance, high quality video and audio, easy to use.
I will updating in time my guide again to the current PotPlayer.

Forced : YesYou peoples with 2014 pcs that are obviously more more powerful than this hardware i trust you all can do 0 to 1% CPU usage for full 720p and +5% CPU usage for full hd 1080p. As i said before NO FAKE here, all was taken while playing and nothing more running in background.
Results with SVP + decent settings and more stuffs from Extras ( not posted yet ) are still impressive, ill show you all later and at the end i hope with a video too. Still lots of work to do so step by step.

Hi, how are you? no problem, thanks to you too .
Okey about " artifacts " its normal don't worry, you cant how to say eliminate artifacts at 100% with max smoothness yet.. but you can do some manual settings to make some kind of balancing between decent smooth quality / artifacts. If its your first time using SVP and watching stuffs with smoothness you are not used to it, in time you will get used to it, it happened to me for first time and today it does not bother me much as before.
When you install SVP it auto detect your hardware and set some settings depending of it. The better your hardware the settings will be high to give you best smooth quality but its costly for the system. like video games when you change it video options, more you use the better it look but more power you need to keep frames at decent rate. You have good CPU and GPU but first before use SVP you have to make sure you did all my steps properly and have best results , I want to ask you when you play your full hd 1080p movies without SVP how is your CPU and GPU usage? it must be low because your hardware is powerful enough, if you have very high cpu and gpu usage using Daum PotPlayer + my settings without SVP then something wrong is happening there, like you could have some process in background all the time using your CPU or some settings were not set properly.
Check the previous post before this one, look the awesome performance it did with a very old hardware without SVP. You must have the same.

I think there is a problem with your installation guide.
You do not mention when to install SVP core.?? you mention everything else.
Also,, for 3D (I know its different subject).. but is it necessary to install LAV filters? or is this optional? because its not in your download section,, but it tells to install it in your instructions.
