Topic: 720p60hz and 1080i + SVP?

I think SVP looks great. To my eyes SVP looks better than the 120hz-240hz displays in stores(The people seem to float and bob up and down to much on those displays).
I have a few questions.

1. How you can watch a video that is already at 60hz(720p60hz)and get the smooth effect?
Also same question for live broadcast 1080i content that needs to be deinterlace first?

2. What is the best pc capture card for the use with MPC and SVP use?
Since I don't won't to use the capture card for recordings, just to view live tv.
Will HDCP be a problem when trying to view live broadcast tv from the cable STB>capture card(in pc)>MPC>SVP?

60fps video is already smooth - you don't need to process it with SVP unless you have 120/144 Hz monitor

Re: 720p60hz and 1080i + SVP?

The thing about 720p 60hz broadcast is that they are not true 60fps I suspect. They are originally filmed or recorded in 24 or 30fps not 60fps(I think). They are just broadcast at 60hz. The reason I believe this is that I recorded a 720p 60hz sitcom and tested it with SVP. Didn't notice any difference when using SVP and not using SVP. Which I expected. Then with the same 720p 60hz recording I ran it through handbrake and converted it to 24fps. Then I played the new 720p 24fps file with SVP and it was a lot smoother and clearer. It was much better with SVP creating new frames to match a 60hz display. Compared to just playing the 720p 60hz file with SVP. Thats why I think that 720p 60hz broadcast aren't true 60fps and instead are 24 or 30fps upconverted to 60hz to broadcast. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Re: 720p60hz and 1080i + SVP?

try "Video repair" -> "Drop every other frame"
it should help with 30 fps source aired at 60 fps rate

Thanks Chainik, Drop every other frame mostly works and gives me the look I want. But after closer inspection its not quite  as smooth.  I guess dropping the frames is causing the problem.

I agree BSmooth, SVP does perform and look better!
