Topic: Windows 10 MPC-HC won't play videos

Hi,

I've been using SVP for quite a while now and I really enjoy it.
I'm very happy with the indigogo campaign and donated quite a bit  big_smile

Recently I've moved to Windows 10. The only software I'm having problems with so far is the SVP package.
The MPC-HC that comes pre-installed with the SVP package doesn't seem to want to play any video anymore.

I open a video, and it says it's playing but it will never play any frame. The time is just stuck on 0. No sound, nothing.
I've removed and installed SVP with different settings, but nothing seems to work.
Also I tried switching output settings from madvr to various others but no luck.

Any of you guys had similar issues?
Maybe someone has some suggestions on what to check or debug the mpc-hd?

Thanks,
Wootah

I suggest you use Codec Tweak to check whether there's error in your codec and if it is, it will try to fix for you

How many threads about Win10 do we need?

I didn't see this specific problem in any of the other Win10 threads.
So... since I thought it was good internet etiquette not to steal someones thread for ones own non-related or bit-related problem I posted a new one.  smile

I tried the fixes button but it didn't find any problems.
Anything else I should try with that application?

this means it just hangs
if you've NV video - the answer is in the thread I mentioned before

I stand corrected Chainik, clearly I've overlooked that, sorry.
Turning cuvid off works.

For future reference where to find this:
mpc-hc -> options -> internal filters -> internal LAV filter settings -> video decoder -> Hardware decoder to use.
