Topic: Windows 10 - SVP just says 'waiting for ffshow video'

Hiya, I was previously running Windows 8.1, SVP was working fine.

Today i updated to Windows 10, unfortunately SVP is not working the icon just says 'waiting for ffdshow video'.

I have followed this many times:

It doesn't make any difference. I have also tried redownloaded, reinstalling etc nothing seems to make a difference.

I have also made sure both programs are running under the same account name, same compatibility mode etc.

Not sure if this helps, but on MPC I cannot see ffdshow under 'external filters', i read somewhere this should be seen - but I cant see it (even after installed ffdshow many times).

Please advise, watching videos without SVP hurts my eyes.

thanks for the reply, but i still cant see ffdshow on external filters. It is definately installed with SVP

When you can't see the filter in external filters, it means it's not registered in Windows Registers.

By you meant with re-installing, do you use the packaged installer or installing bit by bit (SVP core, ffdshow, Avisynth, etc)?

Tried finding it with the add filter button?

Just theorizing on some possible solutions.

Try running SVP as administrator. I don't think it'll work, but it was a partial solution to a problem i had where it would not work.

ffdshow needs to be installed before installing MPC-HC, so maybe try and reinstall the 32 bit version of MPC-HC. (Maybe windows 10 messed that up, i have no clue)

Check MPC HC version. It must be x86.

Looks like the Windows 10 drivers are still a bit rough. While everything worked fine on Win8.1, nothing worked on Win10 till I disabled SLI. Stumbled upon this purely by accident

Same problem here. I have no SLI. System is up to date.

Oddly enough, it worked with a simple upgraded windows 10 version and an old SVP installation that i had left from Windows 8.1.
After a fresh Win 10 install i get this ffdshow problem. I tried to run it in admin, various MPC versions, different ways of installing it and even manually adding the ffdshow filters didn't work.
It might not even be a SVP problem. Perhaps ffdshow needs a update. Or MPC.

I can't see ffdshow filter in player settings too.
