Topic: Persistent "invalid script"

Hello, first post here smile

When my computer is freshly booted, SVP works fine.
However, after a while of using the computer, surfing, maybe play Fallout 4 a bit, I get "Invalid script!" on top left corner every time I try to play a video.
Rebooting clears this and lately I discovered a logout/login to windows also helps.
SVP manager shows no errors, it thinks the video is playing at 60fps, but it isn't.
This has been happening with the free version of SVP and now with paid version too.  MPC-HC, Potplayer, it doesn't matter.

Windows 10, 6700K, 980Ti, 32GB.

Oh, is 64-bit compatibility coming at some point? wink

Oh2: There isn't an audio time shift in Potplayer? My DAC-conversion needs -150ms to fix the delay. VLC and MPC have this option.

there should be something in the Events log...

and what if just restart SVP Manger instead of reboot/sign-out/in?

SVP4 try to determine current display mode on every display mode change. Fallout (and other games) changes display mode.
You need to find what values was determined in SVP4 Event log after you exit the game application.

Re: Persistent "invalid script"

Did some troubleshooting and found out its not a game causing the issue.  It's Google chrome canary.
Can't get the error to come up any other way, but if I start Canary, even if I block it from the internet, SVP won't work. SVP restart won't help as long as Canary is open.
Tried it with all plugins and extensions disabled, no difference. Just having Canary open "disables" SVP.

Active log is identical with working and non-working instances.

Of course, since Canary is quite experimental, I don't expect SVP developers to react to the error it causes.  But this helped me greatly now that I know what causes it. No need for reboots or logoffs anymore smile
