It doesn't explain why "dxva"+"opencl" and "cuvid"+"cpu" still works while "civud"+"opencl" does not.
But I'll check your solution, thanks smile

Don't bother, it doesn't work, "cuvid"+"opencl" still broken...

Hi all, I experienced this issue (MPC-HC freezes soon after starting playback if GPU acceleration is active).
It seems that nVidia has removed CUDA support from the Win10 driver.

Simple solution: Download and install the CUDA developer package from https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads.

You can then use full GPU acceleration.
I unchecked the Samples and the Visual Studio Integration during installation to save space.
Hope this helps someone else experiencing the same.

please re upload 'cause they remove it on the download link sad

Actually they didn't. You just had to remove the dot at the end of the link.
Here, this one is without the dot:  https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

Installing CUDA did nothing for me, still wouldn't work with GPU acceleration, however I just upgraded to the 359.00 drivers with a clean install and updated SVP4 and it seems to be working now.

Really? Will test it soon...

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

359.00 drivers

nope, still hangs for me

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

OK very odd, now it doesn't work and I'm getting player freezes.  I SWEAR it worked the first day after I installed 359.00, maybe different file type I dunno.  This is so frustratingly annoyingly fucken stupid.

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

Did some investigations about CUVID decoder+SVP GPU acceleration ("cuvid"+"opencl").
350.12 works to me

14:31:06.054 (I): Video: 1 GPU OpenCL device(s) on NVIDIA CUDA [OpenCL 1.2 CUDA 7.0.0] (NVIDIA Corporation)
14:31:06.054 (I): Video 1: device name 'GeForce GTX 660 Ti' (NVIDIA Corporation, ver.350.12) [gpuID=21]: OK

352.84 is hangs MPC-HC player

14:27:06.425 (I): Video: 1 GPU OpenCL device(s) on NVIDIA CUDA [OpenCL 1.2 CUDA 7.5.8] (NVIDIA Corporation)
14:27:06.425 (I): Video 1: device name 'GeForce GTX 660 Ti' (NVIDIA Corporation, ver.352.84) [gpuID=21]: OK

As I can see OpenCL 1.2 works but only with CUDA 7.0.0.
For download driver 350.12 you need to select Win 8.1 instead of win 10 in the search filter at NVIDIA drivers page.

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

I find that Nvidia CUVID can work with SVP 64bit now. (32bit still freezes)
I'm using the latest driver(361.91) and LAV filter nightly(0.67.0.136) on Windows 10 14271.
I don't know which one settled the problem.

I must say that I'm impressed that Nvidia CUVID is working with me too!!!

I am using windows 10 with all updates (1511; 10586.122), nvidia 361.91 (although there is 362.00  I'm testing right away).
lav filters I'm using from K-lite mega codec pack 12 (64-bit media player classic, lots of stuff (Updated MPC-HC to version 1.7.10.101; Updated LAV Filters to version 0.67-142-gb9999)) with svp 64-bit reinstalled above it.

Actually, I really dont know the advantages of nvidia cuvid with dxva-copy back, except for hardware-deinterlacing.

for me it's much better in h.265 decoding, especially for 4k

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

Same here working Nvidia CUVID , after install lav filters version 0.67.0.142 , the stable 0.67.0 still hang for me.
I use Svp Pro+MPC-HC x64 1.7.10+ madvr 0.90.13
Thanks for the works to the developers of these great programs.

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

I still crashed when rapidly changing time slider. Disabling GPU Acceleration solves the problem though.

Tried here. No problem rapidly changing time slider, but svp 4 only enables a few seconds after each change.

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

How do I disable OpenCL?

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

Partogi
To use No GPU acceleration in SVP.

EDIT: repairing opencl.dll did nothing. lol

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

OpenCL is a part of graphics driver. To correct OpenCL you need to reinstall your driver.

What about you? Did you crash too?

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

I have variable config. smile
Core i5-3570K + GTX 660 Ti + Win8.1 = no crashes
Core i5-3570K + GTX 660 Ti + Win10 = crashes only on LAV CUVID decoder + SVP GPU acceleration + madVR (work around: 1, 2)
Core i5-3570K + Radeon R9 285 + Win8.1 = no crashes
Core i5-3570K + Radeon R9 285 + Win10 = no crashes

By the way, what video player is this?

MPC-BE in win10 looks so
river uses MPC-BE

Re: Windows 10 - video player hangs and/or crashes

What's the correct procedure to install SVP? May I spam "next" on setup?

I'm wondering if wrong install procedure causes my PC to freeze.
