Topic: SVP 4 very ugly (animes) and without subtitles in new W10 installation

Hi,
I was using SVP 4 tech preview (yep... it worked flawlessly in win 7) but I decided to switch to windows 10.
I just can't get svp to work with subtitles.

First problem : without changing anything, with default install settings  (SVP 4 Free) : The image (anime) seems very edgy like an image without interpolation and I just cant get subtitles to work in MKV files... They're listed in MPC HC (subtitles english .aas) but nothing is displayed...

Second problem : SVP tech preview doesn't work anymore in win 10... It installs without problems but MPC HC doesn't seem to use it (32 or 64 bit). I have subtitles but no 60 fps...

My config is windows 10 64 bit, updated, 760 gtx, 8ram... SVP 4 tech preview still works on my Win7 partition...

Any idea ? I've tried reinstalling but nothing works.

Edit : I had the same problem with subtitles in win 7, that's why I stayed with SVP 4 TP

Re: SVP 4 very ugly (animes) and without subtitles in new W10 installation

Ok I finally got the subtitles to work... I had to disable them in MPC and enable "subtitle" with fddshow filters. But the image is still very edgy even in "max quality" mode hmm

The image is still edgy even if I don't launch SVP so I guess it's a problem with fddshow setting ?

Re: SVP 4 very ugly (animes) and without subtitles in new W10 installation

... I resolved this myself and I feel a little stupid because I though I had checked it. I'll leave it here so it may help people :

By default, MPC HC is set to use some filter called "madVR" but it's marked "unavailiable". I just changed it to "Enhanced video renderer" and it works. smile

it' possibly a bug in the installation script, I'll check
what exactly you've checked in the SVP installer under "optional software"?
