Topic: Softsub issue?

Greetings,

I'm having a bit of an issue getting this working right and was hoping for some advise.  I'm currently using SVP 4 Pro and have had an issue where softsubs (not hardsubs, true softsubs!) seem to be involved in creating wave artifacts on more complex panning anime scenes.

I was under the impression that softsubs were the very last step so I'm not sure how or why this is occurring.  I'm using MPC-HC with the primary use being anime.

Has anyone else had this issue or have a known working configuration for anime that I can try?

General setup info:

MPC-HC
MadVR
Lav Decoders
xysubfilter
ffdshow raw
SVP

Re: Softsub issue?

What happens if you disable xysubfilter?  Does the issue persist, go away, or do the subs themselves disappear?

Re: Softsub issue?

I recomend to use subtitle engine in renderer.
- disable xysubfilter;
- disable subtitle option in ffdShow;
- enable Internal Subtitle Renderer: MPC-HC - menu View - Options - Output. See picture below. Check if Subtitle makred by green sign. If no then choose another renderer. Good renderers are: EVR custom and madVR;
- enable subtitles in MPC-HC: MPC-HC - menu Play - Subtile Track - Enable;
- select subtitles in MPC-HC: MPC-HC - menu Play - Subtile Track - Select from the list above Option 'S: No subtitles'.
