Topic: 550 ti outperform my r9 290...

that... i dont really know why but when a little VGA like the 550 ti can reach 60fps Very high and my r9 290 cant reach that score i feel pretty weird (i dont wanna say something like my VGA is good as **** or something like that, just being realistic the 550 ti is like 1/3 raw power (or even worst) of the r9 290 someone know why this happend?, actually all the good scores in the benchmark are from Nvidia VGAs, is that something wrong with the Drivers?, something that can be fixed?

and one more thing... as you can see i dont "speak" in english, but i can read at decent level (not like i write... sadly) so just dont take notice about my english pls xD.

keep looking for response, Thanks in advance.

Re: 550 ti outperform my r9 290...

You're talking about the SVP 4 quality slider?

When you first run SVP, it "benchmarks" your system to determine the default settings. Since your R9 290 is faster, it might set the default settings to something higher. So "very high" on your 550 TI would actually be a lower setting than "very high" on your R9 290.

This is assuming you use the same CPU... SVP is basically CPU limited, so if your 550 TI is paired with a faster CPU, it should perform better.

When's the last time SVPMark was updated?

I'm not saying it isn't relevant (using the old version means new tests are comparable to older ones), but updating it to use the most recent SVP libraries at some point would be nice smile

Re: 550 ti outperform my r9 290...

thx all, actually i am talking about the "real-life score", at the point i understand is that score the one who treats encoding, i got ~2700points

My specs

i7 3770 @4.0
MSI r9 290
8GB ram hyperX single channel (i can put two in dual if that is a way better)
the program is used on a SSD Savage.

Thanks in advance, thx for the info.
