Topic: Easiest/best method for encoding video

Hi All,

I want to start creating YouTube gameplay videos of 30fps games, and I like the idea of using SVP to have them seem smoother.

What is the easiest way to take a 30fps(29.97) video, and convert it to 60fps(59.94)? I've seen the AVIsynth guides but those seem overly complicated...

Kind of off-topic, but I must ask - why not record your gameplay at a flat 30fps?  60Hz PC displays are in fact 60.00 fps and not 59.94, so using 29.97fps on a 60.00Hz display will result in a dropped frame every once in a while.

Out of curiosity, what PC games are locked at 30 FPS these days? Last one I played was From Dust, and that's pretty old.

HW-based encoders need insane bitrate to record 1080p 60fps without banding (30-50 mb/s). So I can see why choose 30fps one.
