Topic: No active playback
Hello there
installed SVP 4 free on my win10 pc. Followed configurations steps for MPC (using 32 bits version) and SVP keep telling me that there is no active playback.
What should I do?

Hello there
installed SVP 4 free on my win10 pc. Followed configurations steps for MPC (using 32 bits version) and SVP keep telling me that there is no active playback.
What should I do?
Make sure of the following two things in MPC-HC:
1. the "ffdshow raw filter" is set to "prefer"
2. your lavfilters decoder (particularly the one integrated into MPC-HC) is not set to "DXVA2 (native)"; you normally want to use "DXVA2 (copy-back)" but "Intel QuickSync" and "Nvidia CUVID" can work too with the correct hardware/software.
If that ^ doesn't work, open a video, right click the red FFDshow box in your task bar, then click on "raw video filter".
Last time I had the "no active playback" problem, the text in that box was missing for some reason.
If it's missing, try copying what I have in there, or just uninstall all of SVP's components and then reinstall it.
Tried uninstalling reinstalling everything, nothing changed
However, when enabling AviSynth in ffdshow as you mentioned (and by copying the text) MPC-HC is crashing each time I hit play. Maybe because he can't find the 40464.avs script? where can I find it as it is not in the target directory?
Hmm, it shouldn't be crashing. Usually, when the syntax is wrong, I just get a red error message. Also, it's weird that reinstalling didn't fix it... Is there anything weird about the test video you're using?
I don't know where your Svp directory is, but it should be there, at the default install location, right?
I know this isn't a solution, but have you considered using mpv instead? Svp performs better with it, it does everything MPC+MadVR does, and ffdshow/avisynth aren't involved which means it'll probably get around the issues you're having.
