Topic: 144HZ monitor, but videos are being forced to 60fps?

I am using the free version of SVP and the MPC-HC video player. I have statistics open, and when I start a video I can see them starting at around 120fps, but then going down to 60 when the player is done loading and staying there, as if some process had started which is forcing it to not go above 60fps. What's causing the problem here?

You're not trying to play a native 60fps video by chance, are you?
