Topic: SVP 4 linux deleted files

Hi, I just installed SVP 4 linux on Debian at my computer it /home/myname/ and then via svp_manager tried to uninstall it, after uninstallation my home folder was empty, everyhing was wiped out. WTF!!!?!?  I lost so much sensitive and important data, its not acceptable!!!

Re: SVP 4 linux deleted files

1. The installer warns about installation into existing directory
2. You can't normally install into /home/username, if you've managed to do this somehow - well, you did the wrong thing
3. On uninstallation it warns you one more time about what exactly will be deleted, in red color
4. If you think you found a bug in the Qt Installer Framework, please report it there

Re: SVP 4 linux deleted files

If it makes you feel better, when a file and/or folder is deleted it's not really deleted from your hard drive - it's simply marked as available for over-writing (especially on mechanical hard drives).

Therefore there is various software available that can recover this deleted data.
