Ну, у меня дома AMD Phenom 9650 2009г выпуска, и норм все работает. "Экстремально" - это овер 100%. Как видно по логу mpv, много фрейм дропов, а так-же случается черная вертикальная полоса точно посередине видео.
Завтра попробую дрова на видео обновить, ядро посвежее поставить, а больше и не знаю чего пробовать.

много фреймдропов вообще может быть потому что gt 520 - это все-таки не видеокарта, от слова "совсем"
я не уверен что она может выдержать аппаратное декодирование видео + SVP + рендеринг даже для 720p

В общем вы были правы, правильно ли я понимаю что видяха рендеринг вообще не вывозит?

Без ускорения GPU, на некоторых видео загрузка CPU достигает ~98% (ползунок посередине), но проигрывает плавно. Причем -vo vdpau в разы лучше -vo opengl. На последнем фрейм дропы даже если терминал открываешь, не говоря уже о новой странице в браузере.
