Topic: Try Using LAV filters to avoid Potplayer 64SVP4 crash under Windows 10

I just installed Potplayer 64 1.7.2710.0 under Windows 10 (V1703) 64 bit with SVP4 free using just the ffdshow 64 raw filter and it crashed with a Windows exception as soon as I played a video. On the other hand, I had no problems playing the video under the MPC-HC player that was bundled with SVP4. (ps. I don't use a graphics card, just the onboard Intel HD4600 ).

I tried the usual suggestions (turning off H/W acceleration, install 32 bit versions of Potplayer and ffdshow plus install the 4GB patch etc.) but none of these worked.  Finally I thought I'd try installing the external LAV filters (audio, splitter and video) and I registered them to Potplayer 64 as I did with ffdshow. It works ! I guess most Advanced users would have already installed LAV filters anyway (as recommended by Makens Potplayer guide). It's only a newbie like me who wouldn't have tried it in the first place.

works for me with all the built-in decoders
