Topic: Jump List/History of played files

Hi.  Thanks for a cool product.

When I install MPC-HC from the source, you get a list of recently played items by right clicking on the Taskbar icon, pinned or not.

The MPC-HC build in your kit breaks this.

Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks!

this's the very same official MPC-HC installer

Re: Jump List/History of played files

menu View - Options... - Player tab - enable/disable option Keep history of recently opened files

Re: Jump List/History of played files

I wish you were correct.

That option is already checked.

To b specific.  When I download MPC-HC from the source it works.

The list IN MPC-HC of recent files is there.

What doesn't work is right clicking on the pinned icon in Windows 10 to get the jump list of recent files.

When I install MPC-HC as part of your package, this stops working.  The only two options are to unpin or launch.  When the program is running, the jump list doesn't work.

So I don't know what it is, but I have done a bit of looking and found no answer.

FYI I'm an IT pro, so it's not like I am doing anything weird.  This is a relatively new isntall, and the exact same hing happened on my old Windows 10 computer.

This time, I uninstalled the old MPC-HC first, rebooted, then reinstalled.

I wonder if it is related to this, but I have not gone into the registry yet.

Re: Jump List/History of played files

SVP installation app downloads and runs the very same setup .exe files as listed there.
That's it.

Re: Jump List/History of played files

I would ask you to test it then to verify instead of assuming.  This is an issue and it has happened on two machines and three windows installations.

SOMETHING with the installation of SVP and MPC-HC breaks jump lists.

If it is exactly the same, how come if I just install SVP when I already have MPC-HC I don't get smooth playback?

Thanks your your help.

because in this case you need to add 'ffdshow raw filter' to the external filters list manually

Re: Jump List/History of played files

For more information see instructions at the Wiki page: https://www.svp-team.com/wiki/SVP:MPC-HC

Re: Jump List/History of played files

BTW the recent files list is active ONLY when the pinned mpc-hc(64).exe is the default app for the video files.

Re: Jump List/History of played files

Hey guys I found the issue and appreciate the help.

It seems it's just Windows 10 doing its usual weirdness, or maybe something with the uninstaller.

Going into the Default Apps and making MPC-HC the default (not default media player but allowing it to claim all associations) and the jump list came back.

So again thanks.  I wasn't trying to blame your product, just figure out what was going on.

Cheers!
