Topic: Requirements to run blu-ray 4K on 60FPS FPS

Hello,
I'm building a new PC and wanted to ask is the  e5-2680v2(2cpu,20c40t@2.8GHz) enough to run blu-ray 4K on 60FPS or blu-ray 1080p on 144FPS on highest setting.
Now I'm a pro user and I want to set all the Settings to the highest.
Can this configuration be used? Do you need a higher configuration?
How many cores are supported by SVP?
Can I use 2 cpus?
Thanks!

there's no simple answer to this

I personally would prefer single new Ryzen 2700X over used 20 cores server monster...

Ryzen 2700X over e5 2680v2 (2cpu)?
1700x   r15 1537
2680 v2 *2   r15 2675

I read that post. The Blu-ray bitrate is very high, need performance beyond ordinary 4K video

Is SVP does not support 20c40t?

Re: Requirements to run blu-ray 4K on 60FPS FPS

if you need it to run Cinebench then yes, 2 CPU 20 cores will be better
the thing is most people don't buy PC specifically to run Cinebench hmm

it should work... somehow

>  Blu-ray bitrate is very high, need performance beyond ordinary 4K video

this's not a question of bitrate, SVP works with uncompressed video stream
this's about 8-bit vs. 10-bit vs. HDR thing

If I only use SVP4 pro, do you think 1700x and e5 2680 v2, which performance is better? (Ignore other uses, I have other computers)
(Considering that there are better monitors later, I may need 4k 144hz later)

Re: Requirements to run blu-ray 4K on 60FPS FPS

I think both are enough for 4K and both are not enough for 8K.
Current problem is 4K 10-bit can only be viewed in mpv, and mpv performance in this mode is abnormally low, but I hope it will be fixed/improved somehow.

Thank you for your reply
8bit is enough, please recommend a 4k player

MPC-HC 64-bit

Well, I feel that I have 144HZ poison, do not want to see 60hz screen, can these two computers can bring up 4k@144HZ it? Does my GPU 1050ti need to be upgraded?
