Topic: When will Windows SVP go beyond ffdshow?
I just saw the latest update and was thinking about getting SVP Pro with the sweet discount but it got me thinking: if SVP continues to stick with the ffdshow codec for windows media players there really is no incentive for me to take the plunge. I was honetsly thinking of getting Pro anyway but was waiting for LAV decoders to be supported. Already the latest SVP Free crashes media players when a 1080p mp4 plays (tested on wmp, media center and mpc-hc on win7 x64). FFdshow is a dead codec and the headaches of trying to make it work with modern players / splitters is becoming too much of a hassle.
Has anyone heard if the SVP team are considering a move away from ffdshow for windows Directshow? Before anyone suggests mvp for windows or vlc, my needs are best served with windows media center, I'm sure mvp/vlc work great for you but it just won't cut it for my requirements.
