what? if you're happy with mpv - just use mpv
Its sad that paying customers cant get a simple yes or no on a question
There was an answer right under my original comment.
This doesn't apply to mpv users using vulkan, I said it in the original message you quoted, and @Whispering_Bamboo confirmed it immediately. It was answered very quickly.
Also this public beta test is finished I believe, this is an old post, the update for AviSynth was released publically already. So if there was any impact in your case, you'd have noticed it already.
Since I didn't see any other threads on this, I'll leave this here.
This is a really nice feature, thanks for implementing the support for it.
Since I could finally get the HDR info to Madvr I decided to play around with 4K files (Even though my PJ is just 1080p). Using regular SVP, 4k seems to be really hard for the cpu, my 6700k was choking regularly doing 23,976 -> 59,94. Can't really use 48hz or 72hz ,for some reason my projector microstutters with those custom resolutions.
But using Nvidia Optical Flow it works fine. And the quality seems to be really good right now with the auto settings.
All in all, it's nice to see that this project is still alive and improving.

because Madvr was totally shit things , 4K HDR doesn't need it for improve picture quality ,if you dont use madvr ,you will get smooth playback, but no hdr support with svp.
I'm getting the error in the following screenshot when I close potplayer after playing a video with svp off. It will even give me this error if e.g. i turn off DXVA while a video is playing.
Potplayer + madvr, updated to AVSF using update tool in SVP manager. Manually updating to Avisynth+ 3.6.1 did not help
https://i.imgur.com/C8455LL.png
Any ideas on why this happens? Thanks!
EDIT: Found workaround, if anyone is having the same issue, simply use AVS+ 3.6 and downgrade the filter to v0.60
> Any ideas on why this happens? Thanks!
I can't reproduce the crash with 0.7.0. Could you please run it with logging enabled: set "LogFile" to some writable file name under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\AviSynthFilter

Here is the log
EDIT: seems like the issue is 0.7.0, it was my bad assuming the one with SVP was 0.6.2 since on github that was the newest
Since I'm passing the HDR data to Madvr for tone mapping, am I right to disable all hdr options in SVP? Like So:
it doesn't apply in case of avsf + madvr
Ok, good to know.
after potplayer is crashing with beta, tried reinstalling and replace files from zip. any solution for that, ffdshow raw works fine. but omg AVIsynth looked amazing in my projector
Edit: for some reason ffdshow creates little tearing every 3 or 4 seconds when playing via projector (60hz projector), but its fine with monitor (60, 144, even at 180hz). i know its weird.
off topic: love SVP. Is there is any affiliate program or something? i already 4 licenses for windows and convinced so many of my friends to buy SVP. they all love it. now we cannot live without SVP
AVSF 0.7.2 should fix some issues with PotPlayer - you can update via SVP now
AVSF 0.7.2 should fix some issues with PotPlayer - you can update via SVP now
thanks, it works but pot player crashes when seeking. any fix for that. Thanks
Edit: false alarm. It works
potplayer will freeze when seeking/skipping with madvr while in fullscreen, same problem with avsf 0.6.9-0.7.3. i suspect it might have to do with madvr fullscreen having high GPU usage. It doesn't happen with ffdshow
if you see a kind of green bar on the right side of the frame on some videos - update to 0.7.4-1 via SVP
I wanted to try out this new filter but to no avail. SVP crashes on Potplayer 64-bit with EVR video renderer everytime I try to run any videos with Avisynth Filter. Any workaround?

I have tried with others renderer as well, MadVR included but it crashes the moment I try to play video. I don't even get a chance to test the new filter

Do you mean from the event logger? If so I have attached the log
run it with logging enabled: set "LogFile" to some writable file name under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\AviSynthFilter

I've attached the log file

ok... not really helpful
so it crashes immediately after starting playback, with any renderer, w/o SVP at all, right?
does it happen with any video file / format?
PotPlayer - the latest build (1.7.21311)?
any records about this crash in the Windows Event Viewer?

Ye, that's right it happens immediately after starting a playback.
Yes, it crashes with all renders even on auto. It doesn't matter which video format I am using either.
Sadly, I found nothing about any crash in the Event viewer. This really sucks. I was very eager to try it out lol
