Topic: 6700k not enough for 144FPS at 1440P

Hey guys, I'm running an intel 6700K @ 4.6Ghz along with a R9 390 but unfortunately when I watch movies at 1440p with 144fps my utilization goes up to 100% and things start to stutter. This is with the bar at either the highest performance or one tick away from it, it scaling my 4K video to 1440p and nothing running other than MCP-PC and SVP. I'm using the Avisynth filter and not madvr as things get worse with that on but am open to trying other settings if anyone can recommend.

Barring settings changes, would another CPU be better able to handle my demands? If so, what would you recommend?

Might as well try reducing the performance bar first.

It's already at the furthest left position, I can maybe get away with moving it over to the right one tick but no more. 1080p can go all the way to the right and give me 144fps no issues.
