Topic: does overcloking tv from 60hz to 75hz make a better diference?

hi mytv is native 120hz but because ive connected through my denon avr ican get max 60hz refresh rate.
if i overclock my tv to 75hz and dothe following settings

adaptive / uniform - 1m - 2m / sharp / 24px / X3 fps

will iget a smoother video than doing to screen option?

im still strugginling to get a smooth soap oprea effect without getting artifacts, but reading this thread https://www.svp-team.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=5384 it seems setting it to x3 has the best result.

and what does a custom script do tohelp?

any experts whooverclock there monitor/tv can share there settings?

ive tried uniform for max smoothness but if idont set artifacts masking to strongest then i see artifacts and it annoys me, i just cant gettheright balance now.

looking for the advanced guide some people doing.

Best modes:
24 fps videos * x3 multiplier = 72 Hz
25 fps videos * x3 multiplier = 75 Hz
30 fps videos * x3 multiplier = 90 Hz

Thanks what do these override files do fir performance? If I select x3 does my monitor refresh need to be 75hz? Or I can leave it at 60hz?

You need to set refreshrate equal to result framerate.

I don't notice a difference between interpolating 24 fps content to 60 Hz and 120 Hz, so 72 Hz will not be a visible improvement. The difference between 60 Hz and 120 Hz is noticeable only in interactive content like games. Maybe native 120 Hz content will appear smoother than 24 Hz interpolated up.

There is a slight advantage to having a perfect 3x multiplier, but again the difference is not noticeable with interpolation, unlike the judder from 3:2 pull down when watching 24 fps content at 60 Hz without interpolation.

Any interpolator produces some amount of artifacts.
These artifacts are present at calculated frames only. Source frames are not touched. So, the aim is to save all source frames at output.
24 > 60 fps interpolation gives 12 source frames and 48 interpolated frames in one second at output.
24 > 120 fps interpolatin gives 24 source + 96 interpolated.

In this example 120 fps is twice better as it has all source frames.

If you look at 72 fps interpolation it gives you 24 source + 48 interpolated frames in a second. It is all source frames at output and human eye will see them 24/72 = 1/3 of time.
