Sometimes it fails to include the whole frame. I'd like to make it so it's more conservative with the cutoffs.

The advertisement at the beginning of the video changes the aspect res, and the video then doesn't switch back. I'm on a 2560x1080 screen, set to cut off black bars, then reduce res to screen.
I don't see "advertisement at the beginning of the video" 
at what timecode?
I can only see tanks gameplay at 1:37 with top & bottom black fields, and everything works correctly there.
That's what I meant, the World of Tanks advert. SVP would switch to 2392x1080 to accommodate the advert, and then wouldn't switch back to the proper 2160x1080 after it ended. Since I'm using a 21x9 screen, I have black bars on the sides, not top and bottom, so I'm assuming the fault is somewhere there.
what video player?
MPC-HC x64, MadVR and AviSynthFilter.
hmm, seems to work with <= 1280p and doesn't work with 1920p
