Topic: Too grainy?

I'll sometimes watch some 4k movies on my 1440p monitor but there seems to be a great deal of noise or graniness. For instance I'm watching Nobody right now and it seems to be everywhere. Is there a setting I would have to check off? I'm using MPC-HC

Maybe you need MPC-HC shaders?
Try to enable Shader "Sharpen Complex 2" or "Sharpen Complex".
While playback MPC-HC menu Play > Select shader > select one and press "Add ro pre-resize" > OK

Thanks, this didn't seem to work but I'll keep poking around in it. Any other suggestions though?

lol believe it or not that screenshot is actually with the denoise filter. After Mag79's suggestion I saw it listed and tried it with no so great results. Tried it in pre and post too.

run it via mpv to test
