Topic: [Solved] PotPlayer freezes and crashs when using Avisynth Filter
First, SVP works fine with ffdshow raw, but I want it to work with HDR videos, so I am switching to Avisynth Filter.
I have followed this page to installed and enabled Avisynth Filter:
https://www.svp-team.com/wiki/Avisynth_Filter_(AVSF)
However, when I start SVP with Avisynth Filter enabled, PotPlayer will freeze in 2 seconds after start playing a video (no mater resolution or HDR), and some video it turns into green screen, while I can still hear the audio goes. Then the player just crash if I try to click anything.
Strangely, even I disable the SVP frame rate conversion, the player still freezes. I have to completely exit SVP from background to make Avisynth Filter working on PotPlayer.
I tried to restore settings of SVP, but that didn't help.
I tried to use other decoder and disable madvr, but the problem still persists.
Any idea where goes wrong?
PotPlayer version: 220302
SVP version: 4.5.0.213
Decoder: LAV+madvr
OS:Windows 10 21H2
GPU: RTX 2080ti
I can't find any useful information in the log file either, I will enclose it as well.
[Sovled]2022-04-19:
SVP only works with specific version of filters:
AviSynth Filter: 1.3.1 (as bundled with SVP)
AviSynth+ : 3.7.0
Switching to versions above solved the problem.
