Topic: SVP-XMBC or XMBC + Media Player Classic/Madvr?
I now use MadVR's gamma correction/ramp instead of GPU gamma. Also, I enable the "Display is calibrated:" setting (which improves the picture's depth). I also turned off my video card's built-in gamma ramp. I haven't seen many others talk about it, but these changes make a significant difference on my calibrated monitor. I also utilize SVP in MadVR to achieve excellent motion video.
Questions:
1. If I were to utilize SVP: XMBC, would it have gamma correction like MadVR? Or do I have to rely on the built-in GPU gamma)? Are there any other MadVR-like image improvement settings in SVP:XMBC?
2. What are the disadvantages of using MPC-HC+MadVR as an external player as compared to SVP:XMBC? I'm presuming SVP:XMBC utilizes a native player, which means XMBC can adjust video size and OSD.
PS: If I use the MPC-HC as an external player for XMBC, would my XMBC remote control still work (FF/REW/Pause/Stop)? How awkward (or seamless) is this process as compared to the built-in XMBC player?
